(Daily Mail)   If you're going to cause an outrage by tattooing your pit bull at least do something cool like Tweety Bird, Taz, or a tribal arm band   (dailymail.co.uk) divider line 10

If the dog was under, it's not really cruelty. He's right.

But good lord what an ugly tattoo.

fzumrk: Where is the outrage over cat tats?

Apparently everywhere but Russia if Google is any indication.  :-/

TheGreenMonkey: They only real problem I have with that tattoo is it's a pretty crappy design.  No definition, it's blurry, and a possible misspelling of his dog's name.  I certainly would not want this guy to tattoo me.

I think the youtube he posted tattooing his own hand, playing with his cell and then setting his cellphone directly on the extremely freshly tattooed palm to use a barcode scanner on it was kind of the icing on the cake for that.  Yup, that seems sanitary.
First saying he did it because he was bored, then that it was for ID... first that he put the dog under, then that a vet did it for ear cropping and he brought the dog home to do the tat...then a myriad of other facebook and twitter posts... nobody should be letting this guy tattoo them.  Of course, apparently he has quite a few pics of people who did.  There's even one of bad permanent eyeliner.  Of course, finding the shop's address is a residential home's basement should be a warning sign.

Brainsick: Elegy: Big yawn. My big dog has his registration number tattooed in his ear. The breeder did it.

/he's hunting dog
//it's a standard practice
///if this outrages you don't look up freeze branding

There is a big difference between this

and this

/and as a tattooed FARKer myself, I can tell you that belly tat's going to leave a motherfu*ker of a scar

Oh, I agree. This dude put a farking unnecessary, ugly ass tramp stamp on his dog. I'd biatch slap him myself if he showed this to me in person.

Overall point, though, is that in the terms of unnecessary animal cruelty, this is pretty tame. On my personal outrage meter docking tails, docking ears, and removing duclaws all rate much higher than a tattoo.

bank7883: PapaChester: Is it just me or did he misspell his dog's name on the tattoo? Unless his dog's name is Dutches. Is that, like, a term for multiple dutch ovens?

I'm surprised no one else caught that. Not only did he tat the dog, but he misspelled it!

That's what I noticed once I managed to decode his crappy tattoo.  Some "artist".  Both his "artwork" and spelling are terrible.

As for tattooing animals, there isn't a whole lot society can grumble about until they get rid of branding of livestock and, of course, tattooing horses in the mouth as shown above.  I think it's stupid but no more cruel than ear cropping, tail docking, and all that other crap that people do to dogs.

cretinbob: I'm OK with this. Many dogs have tattoos to identify them. All of mine do. This one is just fancy instead of numbers.

Couldn't you just use those microchips instead of tattoos?
