It's been too long. Isn't Everton on a downswing? I'd take Liverpool to win in a neutral field at this point

To be honest, I'd settle for a win today and a win on Monday.

Your FFPL report for Round 30

farm9.staticflickr.com

Top scorer for this round was a resurgent Cognitive_Displaysia with a healthy +95. In second, and second from bottom we have 30/30 with +90. Big score there for the little guy. Stimied_in_a_Rut and StRaplththeLiar with +80.

On the slide we have JuicePats with -50. HaywardJablonski broke his personal best run of four positive scores in a row with a -30, a score matched by mitchcumstein1 for whom -30 is his mode.

At the top my narrow lead increased slightly, thanks to Obamartins getting his ying harmonious with his yang. He also suffered by losing his BB, about which I'm deeply and sincerely sorry. Kcostell rounds out the top three of Little Club supporters.

StRalphtheLier loses the Presidency of the BB club, being outranked by Martissimo, Cognitive_Displaysia and myself. BB club pretty much a case of all or nothing at the minute. NorfolkingChance scored -25 and retained his banker bonus - no easy trick.

1000+ club now descends to The_Envoy.

Mitchcumstein1 scrapes onto the bottom of Page 1 thanks to only doing half as badly as JuicePats.

Our mean league player has 995pts. That represents an average weekly haul of about 35pts.

It is way too early for me to be up and able to type this, especially considering I only went to sleep a little over 4 hours ago. However, here we are. I didn't realize United was the early game so I guess I'm not too upset to be up, but just realize it took me 2 minutes to type this sentence. I will be extremely more hung over the later it goes on.

I am going to type up a midpoint like summary of MLS fantasy a little later. In my infinite genious, I made a bunch of transfers yesterday for players who aren't playing this week. I literally have 3 players in my starting line-up who will generate me 0 points and I don't have the guts to go down -4 or -8 points to make trades for people who are playing.

2013-03-30 08:32:56 AM
Also I can't wait for Europe to go back to their normal time tonight so I don't get screwed up about when games start.

Owen is a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, his heroics in that 2001 FA Cup Final is what drew me to Liverpool as my club. On the other hand, he's a piece of shiat for bouncing on the club for Real Madrid and United where he proceeded to do fark all. So Mr. Owen, Thank You and Get the Fark Out.

I picked my team based on a theme of had-heard-of-them or they had ethnically Yorkshire names. Be ashamed of yourselves!

They might just give RvP that one. One for the Dubious Goals Council, that one.

Now you guys may want to be sitting down for this... I don't want you to fall over from the shock. It appears Abou Diaby has injured himself in practice and will not be seen again in 2013.

Wooo, RvP with a deadly ball in that Titus Bramble deflects in!

Don't fret. When he comes back in September, it's like a new signing!

The real question is whether or not he still gets his name engraved on the 4th place trophy.

Very comfortable for United, but not an insane peppering of the Sunderland goal. Defense looks stellar and hopefully Rafael is ok. Carrick is wonderful as ever, but Young is a bit iffy. Hopefully United gets their second early on in the second half and then can just put the match to bed.

To be fair, daylight savings time is a stupid concept and no one should be switching their clocks, but sure I can concede that. I meant normal relative to me, not the world itself so I'm going with that :P

United's away fans in fine voice as usual. It's Carrick you know, hard to believe it's not Scholes.

False.  The only places on "normal time" are places like Arizona where we don't recognize such silliness as Daylight Saving Time.  You lot ruin it for us.  All of a sudden, without warning, all my TV shows are on an hour earlier. Just long enough for me to get used to it then BAM!  All my shows are on a hour later.

Adam Johnson: has there ever been a player to make a bigger fall from grace Premier League champ to relegation fodder in 1 season? Got to think he's regretting that move from City.

Drop balls are used when the ref needs to restart a game after it was stopped due to injury that wasn't caused by a foul. Most of the time it's not contested as both teams decide on doing the gentlemanly thing and give it back to the team that had the ball before the stoppage

The argument of "Fark it, we do it our way" isn't helping :) It's what's causing this mess in the first place thanks to the US Congress declaring they will change the time and you will like it...

Now I am imagining a multinational company based in Arizona trying to schedule calls in the rest of the US and the world during the two week difference.

Kind of wish RvP got that second for a perfect, but I'll take the result plus banker bonus for the +40 to start the day.

2013-03-30 10:38:49 AM
ohhh VP.. i needed that goal.

2013-03-30 10:41:21 AM
I think everyone had 2-0 for United haha. I think my banker is on Everton meaning they will probably drop points. Now to make some sourdough french toast and bacon before the Spurs match.

2013-03-30 10:49:58 AM
Three goals conceded in 11 games. 627 minutes without conceding.

25 - Manchester United are the first team in English top-flight history to win 25 of their first 30 league games of a season. Special.

Sunderland are awful. Despite the Irish and ex-United connections, I wouldn't be upset to see them go down.

Arsenal v Reading. x3. I see what they're trying to get me to do. There's no way I'd fall for something so transparent. No way in hell. Definitely not.

Similar principle to when a player intentionally puts the ball out for an injury.

Showing my age again, but as a kid I don't recall seeing many (or any at all) uncontested drop balls. I suspect it may largely be a by-product of the modern practice of stopping the game right away if a player appears to have a head injury, which means a lot more stoppages when the ball is still in play.

Good news everyone! Today is Phoenix FC's first ever home game. We got farked with a travesty of a red card in LA last week but AZ finally has a "pro" soccer team! Now I'm really pushing for promotion/relegation for MLS.

Hooray! Go wolves.

I'm hoping to get to the match on the 23rd but I'll only be home for a bit and that's my best friends birthday. Idk if he'll be down for getting dragged to a minor league soccer game.

Bale is one of those special talents and I hope he stays with Spurs for a long time.
