Kanemano: Mrtraveler01: Oldiron_79: Well they listed Austin, TX in thier top 5 targets, so apparantly lil Kim hates hipsters.

Is there a citation/list for this? I would love to see what his other "targets" are.

The usual east coast cities, plus that damn Austin.

They must know that once they take out Austin the US will have no reason to allow Texas to stay in the union any more.

"The Kaesong Industrial Complex, located just across the northern side of the border, is staffed by South and North Koreans. It can't function without Pyongyang's daily okay. If the North suddenly shuts down Kaesong at some point, watch out. But as long as it's still running, as it has been throughout the provocations and tensions of the last few weeks, we can probably -  probably - assume that North Korea is not actually planning to launch a war."

I believe that they have been at war technically for the last 60 years.

\Just not firing at each other except for odd limited occasions.

TexasPeace: Austin?    They want to bomb Austin?

Yea were all kinda scratching our heads at that statement here in Central Texas.  But yea, well whatever.  Guess the norks are going to nuke us.  Maybe afterword i'll finally be able to find a parking space down town.

2013-03-29 08:42:57 PM
So does this mean NK has deployable nuclear devices larger than the yields we detected them testing?

Austin is close enough to our wide open southern border that maybe one could have been snuck in and is just sitting there waiting......

Nothing good has come out of Austin since EA took Origin Systems out back and shot it.

SO, how long do you think the war would actually last?  A few minutes?

kronicfeld: Can Nick Saban be their first target?

Out of all the people in the South, Nick Saban is your number one enemy? Even as an Auburn alumnus I'd put Saban pretty far down the list. The only people who really should be mad at him are kids who get caught up in his roster management schemes.

/Bobby Petrino however...

It would be a weird pseudo-war for a while as both China and South Korea try to keep all those war-ravaged, hungry, and brainwashed refugees out of their countries.

doyner: Silverstaff: doyner: So where are all the war-eager Neocons in all of this?

Oh, right.  Israel couldn't care less so neither could they.

Well, that and the fact there isn't a whole lot of oil in the Korean peninsula.

Oil is just a side effect--the Neocons care ONLY about waging Israel's wars for them.  And yes, I have studied it out.

Have you really studied it out?

Neocons hate liberals, and almost every Jew in DC is a very liberal Democrat. So, what you're saying is that they are actually on the same team?

Mind. Blown.

orclover: "As of now, inter-Korea relations enter a state of war and all matters between the two Koreas will be handled according to wartime protocol," the statement said.

I would like to announce to the world that every human being on the planet owes me a $1 and I will now be handling all other humans according to the fact that they owe me $1.

Just because I say everybody owes me a dollar doesn't mean a damn thing has changed.  I love how some people are shiatting themselves over this and all NK has done is talk smack.

Actually in this case it would be like if every human being on the planet had a 50 year old treaty that said they might owe you a dollar and you just reminded them of it.

Rwa2play: AppleOptionEsc: Oh boy-oh-boy. I can't wait for the Russia-China-USA dick waving contest on seeing who wants to "keep the peace" more and betterer.

That's the joke (I think):  Russia doesn't really care what happens to Best Korea, China's just about washed their hands of them and the US pretty much has it outgunned.  So...rattling the saber isn't doing much.

China doesn't want 5mil refugees. Russia doesn't give a sh*t. The US just looks at it as a training exercise and a way to get rid of a lot of excess corn and other grains.

I heard it on local radio, so dont have citation handy but there was DC, Honeloulou(SP?), Austin, and a couple of others that was cliche like DC (think it was NY and LA), Austin was the only WTF?

2013-03-29 08:49:06 PM
I used to live in Korea. North Korea does this on at least a quarterly basis; far more often if they feel sad and want extra attention. Their declarations of imminent war are treated just one step less seriously than crazy drunken hoboes' declarations of war.

I think everyone in Korea believes that it could happen... and most of them probably believe that the head crazy drunken hobo probably WILL pull the trigger someday... but he has been hysterically threatening to commit suicide by warfare every week for 60 years.

Nobody there even hears it anymore- it's just background noise.

The only new thing happening is that NewKim's press corps is actively seeking a new audience for their noise, with some success.

WTF Indeed: They just clarified by saying it's neither peace nor war. So exactly the same as the last 50 years.

Well... not quite.

"The long-standing situation of the Korean peninsula being neither at peace nor at war is finally over."

Although you're right, it is mostly like the last 50 years since the war never actually ended.  He did say that he is invalidating the armistice, but practically speaking nothing actually changes unless someone starts lobbing bombs.  There is no way that he is gonna be the one to start unless he is completely delusional and believed his dad's own propaganda, because he would be annihilated pretty quickly.

Ok for the second time in two threads, that arrow probably doesn't end in Austin. You CANNOT SEE the end of it because the guy's HAT IS IN THE WAY.  All the other arrows end in an arrow head. That one has the arrow head blocked, so it must be somewhere BEYOND MID TEXAS.

/hopefully CAPS and bold will help this time.
//and yes, they aren't actual trajectories, just arrows from NK to US cities
