Anyone who doesn't like Adventure Time has some serious poo brain

Mathematical!

The episodes about the Ice King and Marceline's early days are actually very touching.

Yeah, count me amongst the folks who don't get this one, or MLP.

2013-03-29 02:33:56 PM
Yeah, I've watched it a few times because my 11-year-old nephew is into it and I wanted to see what it was all about. It's weird (in a good way) and OK, but the whole feel of it is it's geared more towards towards kids, so I'm not really into it. I like cartoons more aimed at adults, like FOX's Sunday night lineup or "South Park"

I saw a couple episodes. It was weird. But entertaining. I wasn't quite sure I knew what was going on, but wasn't bad enough to make me change the channel.

I was told Adventure Time was great to watch while intoxicated. Over the course of watching the first episode I started sobering up as my brain attempted to understand what in the hell I was watching. No need to revisit that.

Unlike MLP, Adventure Time doesn't have legions of annoying man children/fanboys, just people who enjoy watching a funny show.

Not really.  Just watch a couple, hang in there, and you start to know the characters and world enough to really appreciate it.  I'd think you'd already kind of enjoy it by that point anyway.

It's fun watching the networks try to copy animation styles that have been on YouTube for years already.

Cartoons in general have gotten cheap and weird.
Adventure Time is the worst.  It's a happy fairytale, in a post-apocalyptic world where all the survivors have mutated.   Deep, right?

And cheap animation.
Pass

That's what I thought it was at first. Then I torrented the first season and was rather surprised to see that it just sort of dumps you into the show's world. There's some continuity to it, but it doesn't really start until about the end of season 2. The more I watched the show, the more I liked it.

You realize stupidity is easily disproved on the internet, yes?

Don't make me show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.  If you don't already know, you're going to be much happier with the blue pill.

And that's exactly what a lot of Bronies say about MLP.  Face it, if you like Adventure Time, you're into touching children inappropriately.

not really. There's some nods to previous episodes and sometimes sequels to other episodes that are frustratingly dozens of episodes apart, but it's mostly stand-alone.

Blues_X: The episodes about the Ice King and Marceline's early days are actually very touching.

I liked the most recent episode, but I don't think the show quite does emotional episodes very well yet. They come off as a little too much "YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE TOUCHED! OH THE FEELS YOU MUST BE GETTING!" hamfistery; mostly because I think the humor kind of takes an almost non-existent backseat when that happens.

I'm also not too keen on the Fiona and Cake episodes. I was thoroughly pleased with how they shat on the Fiona and Cake fanfiction in "Mystery Dungeon."

FirstNationalBastard: So, adults who watch Adventure Time are pedophiles, correct?

I wouldn't call Bronies pedophiles, but I do think they're goddamn annoying as fark in that they define themselves by a goddamn TV show. Even the most obsessive AT fans don't seem to put each bit of daily drama through the lense of whatever an AT-equivalent of Bronyism would be; nor do they thread shiat at the mere mention of Adventure Time.

Not sure why, but it appears to be true.

Hmmm...I wonder if that means I'd like Adventure Time since I think Tim & Eric are about as close to completely lacking humor as one can get.  Shoelaces have more inherent humor than pretty much anything I've seen from Tim & Eric.

The monsters are definitely a step up from anything in Adventure Time. She likes scary stuff though, we caught her quietly watching Walking Dead from behind the sofa last week when she was supposed to be in her own room watching Danger Mouse.

Speaking of John DiMaggio voicing dogs, he also voices characters for the Hub's Pound Puppies series...

Adventure Time is simply amazing fodder for when you need to steal...er...crib something for an impromptu D&D session.

I just... can't get into it. I mean, there is no real reason why, I think it's kind of humorous, especially for a big nerd...

I just, you know, the entire adult cartoon watching thing got old for me. I guess I just don't do enough of the right kind of drugs.

I love to watch king of the hill on mushrooms though.
