Leeds?!

I'd rather quit the sport than admit I played for Leeds, too.

Try Toronto FC, Robbie. They'll sign anyone.

Depends what club you go to. I really don't think Robbie's looking hard enough for a club. I think he ought to at least give it a shot with someone. Just put out the question and see who makes an offer. In all seriousness, he's good enough to get capped for the US, he's good enough to play anywhere in MLS. Pick a team based somewhere with particularly relaxed attitudes towards gays- the Earthquakes, the Revolution- and just have a little faith that the fans and teammates will have your back. End of the day, you're still wearing the same shirt they are and you've already logged MLS time as it is.

I can't see any of those fanbases having a problem with a gay player.

I blame Don Revie for this.

Robbie is always welcome back in Columbus. He was a great player for the Crew in their MLS Cup run. I'm glad he's finally able to be happy so I'll wish him well whether he plays again professionally or not.

I really think he would be well received back in Columbus. A returning champion and first out player in one of the most gay friendly cities? Sounds perfect

I doubt there's a single MLS fanbase that would have a problem. My completely pulled-from-my-ass conjecture is that soccer fans in North America skew more liberal/progressive anyways.

Houston has a lesbian mayor and a gay cowboy bar in the heart of midtown. You can safely add the Dynamo

After answering several questions of: Who are you again? He will discuss how gay he is

A friend of mine worked at the will call window when Robbie played for the Crew.  He said that of all the players, Robbie had the absolute hottest "friends" to leave tickets for.  Men and women both.

Leeds fans would definitely reject him for shagging other men.

Shagging sheep on the other hand...

DC United would welcome him with open arms. They were the first MLS team to put out an "It Gets Better" video. Also gay marriage has been legal there for 5+ years.

The Timbers need help, and as long as he stays in the metro area of Portland I doubt anyone would care. Especially if he helps the Timbers get better.

Since when does the U.S. suddenly become more tolerant of gays than Europe?

Hell, the Union fans paid a tribute to him in the first game of the season and have had a gay pride flag in the section a few times last season too....and philly fans are assholes.

Chicago owns his rights within MLS, and they'd take a polygamist turtle-farker right now as long as he could get them some goals.

Eastern Europe is a shiathole, along with places like England and Italy.
