Out of the closet?  Do her husband and children know yet?

She's just open to bucking the party line.

2013-03-29 08:47:58 AM
fark that line, position evolving.

Im sorry, but I don't ever believe a politician when they say that, they are just a bunch of tools who want to get re-elected because their only skill in life is to kiss ass and suck dick so they can get money, they can all rot in that cesspool you call DC.  Evolving, my ass.

ok, maybe that was too harsh.  Im glad people are leaving their bigoted ways and are embracing the difference inherited in people, but I just don't trust any of these windbags when they open their mouths.

"My position is evolving" == "I'm starting to see political expediency in backing a different horse ... for now"

If you aren't willing to say your previous position was wrong, you have no conviction.  I have no reason to believe that your position won't just "evolve" back again when it becomes convenient.

I said without the whole gay thing.

That little guy has his jazz hands going quite fabulously.

For the record, Alaska's other Senator endorsed same-sex marriage earlier in the month.   http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/290253-begich-latest - democratic-senator-to-back-gay-marriage-

After all those shiats the morons in your party did to you, why are you still in GOP Murkowski? You won the state as independent for Christ sake.

2013-03-29 10:52:03 AM
Mark beigich (d-ak) has already come out in favor of gay marriage. Alaska is one of the reddest states around but more in a fiscal conservative, libertarian way.  It doesn't have as much of the Christian fundy crazy as other red states.

Beigich's support must be polling well there if Murkowski is signaling an "evolution".

Well, that's going to annoy Prevo.

Agree.  I think all these people "evolving" to supporting gay marriage are looking at the political expediency and trying to suck off some votes to stay in office.  All these people coming out saying they now support it are doing so because they know that, in the end, they are on the wrong side of history and they want to hop on that bandwagon as soon as they can.

All quite ridiculous and pathetic, especially since the argument for gay rights (equal rights for all, regardless of your sexual orientation) has been around FOREVER, and didn't just pop up.

That goes for Dems and Repubs.  If you had a problem with it before, you should still have a problem with it.  It isn't like 20 years ago gay marriage was such a threat to "traditional" marriage that you had to ban it, but somehow, the LGBT community got together and found a way that it will no longer be a "threat" so now you clowns can support it.

As far as I'm concerned, Prevo can kiss every ass on the planet.

Yes well let's be honest, it was pretty farking easy for her to say it publicly.  She doesn't have to worry about a worse (R) backlash, given she had to run as an (I) in the last election.  Thus far, all I really see from Republicans supporting gay marriage:

1) are gay themselves
2) have gay kids
3) are retired/no longer in office
4) aren't really (R)

Find me an (R) with something to lose, with no personal stake in the game who supports gay marriage and I'll show you what true courage is.

But plenty long for exponential change.  Everybody should get used to it because it's only going to happen faster going forward.

Apples meet oranges.

Your failure can be overcome with a discrete application of logic.
