(Artist Direct)   Ray Charles best version of "It's All Right" is found here, dubbed. Can the Knights of Fark help me find the full and original version? This is a tragedy and shall not go unanswered   (artistdirect.com) divider line 18

Well, then this probably doesn't apply to you, but it's still a helluva tune.

Thanks, but I think you missed the point of the post.I am trying to find THAT specific version of the song. You can identify it distinctly by Ray Charles turning the mike around and the volume suddenly picking up.That is a real recording, and I used to have it. However the only place I can find it now is on the edited video submitted.I was asking help to find that specific version of the song.

Subby? Buy a copy of the soundrack - or as they say 'google it'. I'm sure there is info out there about what versions they used.

Saw him twice - once in Billings with the full band and the Raettes and once in Milwaukee with a 5 piece. Excellent both times.

Thanks Douchebag/hater,,,,
I have worn out my resources trying to find this version of the song... The sound track to the movie simply calls it "Live" without any date references.  I figure it was recorded around 1959-62.  I guess I am just going to have to purchase the soundtrack and hope they have the complete song.  I guarantee once I do,,, It will make an "appearance" again.  It is the definitive version.
Thanks all!

Well there are only so many 'live' Charles albums and you're right about the time frame.

I went to Amazon. There is a 'LIVE' at the top of the list but it's not that one. 3-4 down is a 'Newport' one - this might be it.

I listened to the sample and it has him pulling the microphone closer.

Here's one from the Newport Jazz Festival 1960, but I don't think it's the same version with the mic being moved.....still it's Ray Charles live, so it ain't bad.

Only saw him once, but it was magical.

If there is a full version to hunt for, I couldn't find the entire Belushi playing Bethoven playing Ray.

Pandora plays this version, but 4:14 long.  I have an m4a of it; it's the same track.
