Guys who propose in highly public venues like this deserve to be shot down when the pop the question. This is not romantic, jerkwad. This is almost coersion.

miniflea: I saw a video where a woman said no under similar circumstances, in front of the whole arena at a basketball game. What was awesome was the mascot walked up to the guy afterward in his costume and handed him a beer and patted him on the back.

If I recall, that whole thing was a fake.

Unless they had already made plans to get married and agreed on them, then yeah, I agree with you.  But a lot of couples talk it out first so that only the timing/location of the question is a surprise---not the answer.
