(Rolling Stone)   What can we look forward to on the season three finale of The Walking Dead? Sure, a lot of it is speculation, but Robert Kirkman insists "twenty-seven characters will die" (spoilers if you're not caught up on season three)   (rollingstone.com) divider line 140

But will they stay dead?

2013-03-29 12:07:53 AM
So should expect lots of "OMG WHY DID X Character HAVE TO DIE! I LOVED THEM!" Facebook posts on Sunday night.

A corpse is a corpse of course, of course.
And no one needs run from a corpse, of course.
That is, of course, unless the corpse, is the famous Walking Dead!

(never seen the show, actually)

I assume that includes zombies and extras from Woodbury.

KILL ALL THE PEOPLE

2013-03-29 06:42:05 AM
Tyreese's crew, other than Tyreese.
Hershel
Carol
The Governor
Most of Woodbury

There's one major sucker-punch they could go for, but I'm not sure even AMC has the stones to do it.

2013-03-29 06:49:47 AM
27?

Its probably the entire assault squad we see storming the prison in the preview. We also see the good guys packing up cars, so I think they will just run away.

2013-03-29 06:55:56 AM
That is everyone, is it not?

2013-03-29 06:59:19 AM
Andrea, please.

I think I'm over this show. I've tried really hard, but I think they've lost me as a fan. Which is OK. It's about time for some Game of Thrones anyway.

The baby?

It's pretty much a necessity. You can't have a baby in this type of show, it'll grow up too fast.

2013-03-29 07:10:13 AM
They'll probably kill off Carol and that young daughter who's name I don't even know because she's never on anymore.

The gov and his bully boys would be most that 27, some civilians from woodbury

I's like to see rick, carl and andrea die

this season had been nothing but running in place while waiting for the finale

don't know if I'll be back next season

I never watch the repeats
Think I could drop this one pretty easily

2013-03-29 07:27:14 AM
Are they counting horses, cows, cars, hallucinations of dead wives, and zombies?  cause... I dont count 27 characters.

The Baby
Hershel
Carol
Beth

....recognizes the danger in leadership in this new world. He sort of understands the possibly intoxicating effect that power has on leadership. I just think he's a complicated man and rightly so. He's Job, he's been tested beyond all tests.

What is this apocalypse Ebonics?

It's HIS job. Not "He's" job.

Plus he was a cop which is sort of irrelevant in a world where people have risen from the dead.

Good news, I think the next episode will have the Governor finally pluck out the girl with the swords eye for an eye she plucked out of him. Which is a much cooler story anyway.

I heard that from a guy I know named Mark who is a big time part of the show. But he only worked on it last May. From 5:29 to 5:30 I think.

Jesus dude. I bet you find hidden meaning in everything.

woo, Bible allegories!

You strike me as the kind of guy who sees someone get a pie in the face, and then tells everyone else it had a deeper meaning that referenced Kierkegaard, the Bible, and the greater concerns of the lower classes during the fall of Rome... And then the writer turns to you and says, "No. It was just pie."

The walking dead had nothing to do with religion. It's about dead people that rise from the grave. That and two brothers. One who is good and one not so much.

Plus a bunch of other cool stuff if you would just pay attention.

They can't kill Carol - that would be two people Daryl really cares about dying within days of each other.  That would suck.

They will kill:
Hershel
Beth
Morgan (he'll come back, just to get killed)
Judith (Beth will probably be holding her when she's shot, similar to the comic)
Andrea
Sasha
The Governor
Milton

Everyone else will be bit players.

Twenty-seven is a lot of red shirts.

'We're going to focus on fewer characters per episode.' A good way to save money for the producers, but I wish they'd stop spreading out ten episodes of content over an entire season just to sell more advertising or up the number of episodes to reach that golden syndication number. The show has gotten real diluted this season.

SomeoneDumb: The show has gotten real diluted this season.

Actually, I think the first half of the season went too fast. After last season's complaints about too much character development and too little action, they jumped to the other end of the spectrum and totally eschewed the former for the latter. They made Michonne a dour, brooding, taciturn pain in the ass until the episode with Morgan. The interaction between the characters is pretty superficial, and they all just seem to make utterly arbitrary decisions. The only characters who've been worth a damn have been The Governor, Merle and - relative to his screen time - Tyreese.

My guess is a lot of Woodbury and a few of Rick's crew will die. My guess is Hershel because he can't run on his leg and either Glenn or Maggie since they set us up for sadness with the marriage at the end of the last episode. I don't think we'll have both because it's more powerful that way seeing the grieving partner and all. My guess is the baby dies too in Maggie's arms so....

Maybe when he resurrects. There's no emotional value to Milton making the kill. Michonne or Andrea have the personal motivation. The writers better not drop this ball.

That's been my thinking. It's either going to be Maggie or Hershel. I don't think AMC has the balls to kill a baby. If they did she'd have been killed off like they did in the comic book.

Daryl is way too popular to kill off. He's big money for AMC right now. I doubt they'd let Kirkman kill him off. No way Carol gets killed off. That would make Daryl go all Hulk like on the revenge. Plus there are way too many Daryl/Carol shippers. I'm sure AMC wants people to keep guessing will they, won't they.

Rick is the lead of the show. No way he's getting offed. I doubt they'd kill Carl. Yes they killed Sophia but they had to to make Carol feel as if she's finally lost everything so her character could grow.

The second part of the season just seemed to drag on and on and on. :/ It felt like the whole Sophia story line from last season. By the time she came of out the barn I just didn't give a crap if they found her or not. Had they cut down the scenes where they went looking for her & moved the reveal up a few episodes it would have had a much bigger impact. I think I understand why they've pushed the big battle. They're going to end on some huge cliff hanger. So we'll be talking about it all summer. Sorry TWD guys. Game of Thrones is coming back. They actually know how to keep an audience hooked all season with a good balance of character development and action.

2013-03-29 09:17:21 AM

Mugato: I assume that includes zombies and extras from Woodbury.

I remember them saying Woodbury had 33 people in it. I'm expecting some of Rick's group to die (Maggie's sister seems to be just in the background, the white female T-Dog. She can go with no wrinkles in the plot). But I want Merle's activities in attracking zombies to have attracted one of the two herds we were told about earlier in the season.

Thousands of zombies swarming the tire wall. Climbing over each other an getting over the barricades. Like a sea of jam, but instead of jam it's undead people.

I take it you'll be having your crow with a side of rice and fall veggies?

Andrew Lincoln is on record saying that one of the deaths this episode will deeply hurt not just the group but also his character personally and will have ramifications in the coming season.

That babby is dead, along with Carol and they will die similar to the way Rick's wife and baby die in the comic.

Mulchpuppy: Maybe when he resurrects. There's no emotional value to Milton making the kill.

Not even for the "I'm finally growing a spine!" thing? I'm thinking he nerd rages and blindsides him when he realizes that the Governor has nothing left of that man he once knew, and that it's high time to stop being a little biatch. Probably when Gov has a gun to someone. Rick, the baby, maybe Carl.
