Lorelle: Rancho Cucamonga? I'm surprised it wasn't the one in Hollywood.

Back in the day I babysat a kid who's now one of the managers at the Hollywood Chick-Fil-A. His mother unfriended me on facebook and sent an email to my mom complaining about me after she pulled out the "not all Christians are like that" line in response to one of my posts and I told her that if that's the case then the Christians who don't want to get grouped in with the bigots need to do a better job condemning them.

I don't care what opinions they have, but while they still donate money to groups like the FFA, AFA, Focus on the Family, etc., not a dime of my money will go to Chick-fil-a

You do realize that:
1) this was a Franchisee
2) They will serve anyone and then use the profits to fund their Hate

Hell their franchisees could have "Gay is A OK" nights and I still would not east there due to the corporate ownership

When I don't like a business establishment, I just go somewhere else. I don't feel compelled to boycot, protest, tweet about it, blog about it, go nuts on facebook, call my local news, and then finally fark about it. What is wrong with you people you need to do the same thing for everyone who is not like you?

No, we're not.

I've worked with Shane before and he is an amazing guy, and he does a lot of good work for the community. But he got PLAYED by Dan Cathy. It's one of those cases where pure evil takes advantage of the person who tries to find the good in everyone. Dan Cathy is a manipulative monster.

Two things to keep in mind:

(1) When CFA released a statement saying they would no longer fund bigoted anti-equality groups, they still held a biker rally the next week...and asked attendees to make their bigoted donations directly to the anti-equality organization.  This way, the money wouldn't pass through CFA hands and they  technically would not be lying about not funding the bad men themselves. They still organized the funding drive and they will again.

(2) When Dan Cathy courted Shane, he specifically picked someone with ties to colleges, where CFA was battling to keep an on-campus presence despite their bigotry violating the ethics code of the schools. He also, as was astutely pointed out by HRC, selected because he is not a CPA. When Dan Cathy let him casually review records "proving" CFA wasn't funding bigoted orgs, it was a farce.

Meijer shouldn't even be on that list. Never trust a troll... ever.

Wiki.

Yeah... Wiki is just a bastion of 100% accurate information.

They're not anti-gay... they just don't advocate one way or another. They don't offer benefits to unmarried couples regardless of the genders involved. If the state of Michigan starts recognizing same sex marriages, I'm sure Meijer will offer benefits in the same way they currently do for other married employees. To call them anti-gay for not taking a stand and not advocating one way or another is quite a stretch.

But by all means... keep on taking everything on Wiki as 100% accurate.

They should be giving out free same-sex blowjobs with every purchase to REALLY show their commitment to equality.

cman: I am curious if Chick-fil-a has some sort of franchise agreement that they can terminate under such a condition

Didn't your RTFA?  Chik-fil-a doesn't discriminate against anyone.  They will gladly accept anyone's money to fund hate.
