If I worked at an ad agency I have to wonder if I would make the connection in time. I got to "Allman Brothers Band" pretty quickly from the headline here, but if you say "Allman Brothers Band" my brain has to go through lots of musical stuff before arriving at death.

Ya know, in Chrome you can't fully type "allman brothers motor" before it offers "cycle crash" and "cycle accident" as autocompletes.

Truly no one checks these things.

Oh, and Duane Allman was killed by something beyond the scope of helmet help, Berry Oakley walked away with an untreated skull fracture and died hours later but would have probably been okay if he'd gone to the hospital.

Before I read the article I thought maybe it was about the progressive Wang Chung commercial that seems to be 500x louder in my back speakers when the song is playing. Or the vibrating phone sound.

They need to ban using ringing phones in commercials to get your attention too. Why do these people think that annoying me is going to make me like them and buy their crap? Where in reality it just makes sure I'll never give them my business.

Gregg Allman lives around here. From what I know of him, he likely doesn't give two shiats as long as he's getting paid. Costs money to keep your 20-year-old girlfriends in new convertibles.

Exactly.

80% of farkers think the Allman Brothers Band is an oldies group anyway.

Semi-relevant CSB:

Last year, when I decided to start playing guitar, I was shopping around. One small shop owner asked me about my tastes, preferences, etc. I told him I wanted to be the next Duane Allman (even though I've already got 10 years on him) so he puts a bright red SG in my hands. Took me quite some time to figure that out, since he's usually associated with Les Pauls.

Gregg Allman still owns the rights to the song.

Seems like the EXACT farking music to use in your motorcycle insurance commercial. I understand the people that might criticize it, but they'll get over it. If enough people complain the company will change the music just so they can appear to be sensitive to criticism. That's how capitalism corrects some things: market pressure. Maybe the downside of the choice of music will outweigh the benefits and they'll change it. I'm good with that. (But no matter what the douche that replies to this comment says, Capitalism can't solve every problem.)

But really, just STFU. It's the Allman Brothers and it's really farking good music. Please don't make them sub in some farking Yanni or Zamfir.

If you're eligible for them (been a member since 89 & know that the requirements have loosened up but don't know what they are now) & you don't sign up with them you should be considered mentally deficient.  Through the usual automotive tickets, fender benders, automotive deer hunting, teenage drivers, etc that come with going through life & one major house fire, they've been nothing but incredible with us.  Consistently great customer service & payments that were MUCH higher than I was expecting (& very little argument when I did have to question the amount).   They seem to truly care about their subscribers, something that is sadly missing from most other corporations these days.

Get together with some other BMW bike owners and go on a ride to the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America bike rally. (It will be on July 18-21 in Salem, OR this year) They came to my town last year and were very noticeable anywhere you went in the local area. Quite a few of the attendees camped out and stayed in town for a week or two even though the rally was only for 3 days.
