Proves that even if you work in a creative field and make a nice salary you can be dumb as fark.

If I worked at an ad agency I have to wonder if I would make the connection in time. I got to "Allman Brothers Band" pretty quickly from the headline here, but if you say "Allman Brothers Band" my brain has to go through lots of musical stuff before arriving at death.

Why is that fail? You don't NEED insurance until you crash. Sounds like a perfect for to me.

Ya know, in Chrome you can't fully type "allman brothers motor" before it offers "cycle crash" and "cycle accident" as autocompletes.

Truly no one checks these things.

Oh, and Duane Allman was killed by something beyond the scope of helmet help, Berry Oakley walked away with an untreated skull fracture and died hours later but would have probably been okay if he'd gone to the hospital.

Before I read the article I thought maybe it was about the progressive Wang Chung commercial that seems to be 500x louder in my back speakers when the song is playing. Or the vibrating phone sound.

They need to ban using ringing phones in commercials to get your attention too. Why do these people think that annoying me is going to make me like them and buy their crap? Where in reality it just makes sure I'll never give them my business.

Dusty Rhoades as The Midnight Rider.

The commercial that shows how much money you'll lose by choosing Geico? I thought it was refreshingly honest.

Should never have given that account to Freddy.

I'm 25 years in the ad business... Plus I'm a lifelong rock music enthusiast who spent most of his formative years in the state of Georgia. And no, that connection is too tenuous to to be significant. You're thinking too hard about it, subby.

Maybe if the surviving members of the Allman Brothers Band didn't care enough or notice this no one else should either.

That commercial has been out for months and they're just now reporting on it? Sounds like somebody was suffering from a case of the slow news day.

Gregg Allman lives around here. From what I know of him, he likely doesn't give two shiats as long as he's getting paid. Costs money to keep your 20-year-old girlfriends in new convertibles.

2013-03-28 09:49:14 PM
Just dumped GEICO after 13 years. Kept raising my rates even though I haven't had a ticket or accident in over 7 years.

2013-03-28 09:49:48 PM
I have a feeling everyone would also be butthurt if they used the song in a helmet ad.  Who the Fark cares, lighten up people

2013-03-28 09:50:25 PM
It's like Oscar Mayer using a Mammas and the Pappas song for a ham commercial. Or claiming if Princess Diana were alive, she would have loved to ride in the latest Mercedes Benz.

2013-03-28 09:50:56 PM
Isn't that just an example of why you should have motorcycle insurance?

They're selling insurance, not motorcycles.

My fav was Sixpence None The Richer / 'There She Goes' used in a tampon commercial. Hooray for the clueless.

ultraholland: talking about these guys?

Only one of them died in a motorcycle wreck.

2013-03-28 09:58:21 PM
I'm part of the 3% dissatisfied customers. After 8 years of no tickets or accidents and just one claim to have my front windshield replaced, they raised my rates 90% in one shot. Just the cost of business was the explanation. Switched to USAA.

Do you mean they both crashed in THIS Macon, Georgia? The one where you have a choice between US-23SOUTH/US-129NORTH or GA-19SOUTH/GA49NORTH? No wonder they crashed going south and north simultaneously.

I honestly didn't think anyone would pick up on that. We should get off each other's lawns, or something.

Please. This is Fark, not reddit. Half of us in this thread have AARP cards in our pockets right now.
