Well that sucked. Kid hit my submit button. :-/. Now everyone knows why I'm an evil mother, little beasts.

I try to avoid the kids meals. When they beg for fast food, we get the burgers and bring them home and have salad or fruit for the side.

Kids can eat anything and stay thin as long as you keep throwing their asses outside.

Kid's meals are treats...not meant for daily consumption. When will parents become responsible?

Unless he's raiding the fridge for leftovers, what kind of idiot would have mashed potatoes with mac n cheese?

No shiat. When we get our kids Kid's Meals, we get the burgers, fries, and shakes. Screw that healthy crap, what fun is that?

The trick is, we only eat out one meal a week.

If you take your kid to Dairy Queen for breakfast

Dairy Queen serves breakfast?

That's if the kid cleans their plate.

If you've got picky eaters maybe they put away a third of that. They'll be more likely to eat the crayons that come before dinner.

Double starches, and since both have cheese double fats. Yeah sounds well rounded and balanced.

Again, the trick is to only eat this sort of thing on occasion.

If I'm going out for dinner, I'm not counting calories.

This.
If you're at the restaurant 3/4/5/6 times a week, you're doing it wrong.

Yo dawg I herd you like cheese with your starch, so I put mac'n'cheese in your cheddar mashed potatoes so you can have artheriosclerosis in your diabetes while you get fat.

They should go to Chipotle. My kids take the single taco meal and don't break 500 cals until they drink their milk. It's probably less than the nutrition info says, since we steal their chips (140 cals).

How about you make a Shepard's pie but use mac n' cheese instead of the mince filling? And then top the whole thing with cheese sauce and garnish with tater tots?!?!?!?

I think you need some nice crispy nachos for your side dish.

My friends and I ate nothing but junk food all through the 70's. None of us were fat.

But, that was back before the media convinced parents there is a pedo behind every tree just waiting to abduct your kid if you take your eyes off them for a second.

Given that the Pedos now have powerchairs to chase them down, outside kids need to be pretty fast.

/Did you jump? Only a little at first.

I end up eating more than half of any kid's meal I buy for my daughter, in addition to my own meal. Kid's meals are killing me.

When is the media going to get it through their damn heads, it's fast food, it's not supposed to be nutritious. If you want proper nutrition cook your meals at home.

I'm going to buy a couple of really nice suits with some of those middle management meatball oxfords and open an institute and bill the living piss out of people who hire me to publish 600 pages of the obvious.  If you want a .pps, it's a couple more G

You dolt! The obvious answer is, of course, garlic n' cheese toast...with a little cheese sauce to dip it in.

You know you could always say "No."

Nevermind that's why you have kids in the first place.

I don't even bother looking for the kids at the park any more.  If some pervert wants to kidnap them I pity the fool.  The kids are a product of the Smeggy Smurf household.  The perv doesn't have a chance.  They'll tie him up and stick things up his ass before gluing him to something in public.  Yes the kids are just as farked up as I was.

Or fries with pizza?

Or an ice cream bar with what amounts to a slushie?

But people must do it.

We don't order from the kid's menu because it's healthy. Newsflash: most meals at restaurants aren't great for anybody. Lost of sugar, fat and salt.

We order them because they're smaller portions, cheaper, and easier for the kids. Finger foods and/or unspicy and/or familiar - like burgers or chicken strips, instead of what the adults are ordering, like that fusion Mayan-French-Sulewesian fritter with a fiddlehead-sriracha compote

I just got back from a trip with my kid. For lunch today he had a Happy Meal. Which really means he had two chicken nuggets, half a bag of apple slices and a milk.

Then he amused himself with the crappy toy for an hour while I was driving.

It was pretty much everything I could have hoped for out of lunch.
