saturn badger: Lando Lincoln: freetomato: I love the internet.  You can find anything.

I cannot imagine how insanely hard taking that picture could have possibly been in 1978.

Unless it's a composite.

Bulb mode. Cover lens with black cloth then not. It doesn't take long for the moon to expose.

Yeah, I know it doesn't. But to take 13 exposures of the moon and manage to get the concert and sphinx exposed correctly as well would take some doing. You're not going to do that in bulb mode with a cloth.

It could be done by someone who knows what they are doing. Depends on f-stop and neutral  density filters. We have no way of knowing the skill of who shot it. I agree it would be rough but not impossible.

I've got pictures of my mom's aunt hiking up there way back and I recall a junior high teacher who did the same  They used to let all the tourists climb them.

OtherLittleGuy: With that stunt, they're sure to get a lot of hawassment.

I see what you did there.

Now is a good time to point out that Zahi Hawass is a farking asshole.

Don't Tongue the Reaper!: Assholes.  There's a no-climbing rule for a reason. You're not above the rules.

Which is why they apologized...

Oldiron_79: They should bulldoze them down and then pulverize the blocks into gravel since they was built with slave labor, if you dont agree you are racist and support slavery.

Funny stuff right there, guy.

LemSkroob: We got there in the evening, just in time to witness the laser show.

Nothing says "please respect our history and heritage" like a cheesy laser show.

You falsely asume that it was a laser show added in the modern era. It's actually an ancient egyptian laser show built by the aliens 3000 years ago. You don't think that The Sky Gods spent incalculable amounts of energy to travel the vast distant between stars just to teach us how to stack rocks in the desert, do you?
