Pinner: "Saunders says Hill is exaggerating the whiskey's value."...because... he tried it and it's not that great?
RedT: Wow, that's a lot of drinking evaporating
dwrash: Whiskey does not improve once it's in a glass bottle... and whiskey left in a barrel too long absorbs more off-flavors and will eventually turn to syrup and become undrinkable.Whiskey also needs to breath, which is why most bottles have a cork top.. which will cause it to evaporate over long periods of time.To a Whiskey conneseur, I would think whiskey that old would not be valued all that much... it would be a novelty item that one would put on the shelf and never drink... so if the bottles only contained colored liquid, they would be just as valueable as if they contained real whiskey.Just my 2 cents.... but what do I know?
