For as much as computers and email have helped productivity, they have hindered it even more so. People spend countless hours texting, tweeting, reading email and surfing the internet while at work, most of it is in no way work related. Hell half of the people reading/posting here at Fark are doing it from work. It's nothing but a huge time suck and I don't think there's anything wrong with people doing away with it.

way south: dittybopper: The Evil That Lies In The Hearts Of Men: Sure frees up time that would otherwise be spent trying to cover up an electronic paper trail.

And that alone may be the smartest reason not to use something like that, especially if you are a high level government employee.

I'd think its also a warning to the rest of us about how insecure our communications have become.

Ironically, the less technology you use in your communications, the more secure it is.

I can set you up with a completely secure manual communications method.  I can set you up with a very good computer system, but I couldn't guarantee its security like I could with the paper and pencil manual system.
