Deep Contact: Must of been a very quiet helicopter.

It was probably a good distance from them. The optics on an Apache (or any attack helicopter) are pretty impressive and it's unlikely that the Taliban has any idea of their capabilities.

And, by "insurgent," they mean people who are standing in their own yards desperately trying to defend their homes and families from a foreign army. I wish the next group much better luck.

Two things.

One, about 7 years ago a refugee family from Afghanistan moved into a rental house next door to me. They weren't bad people. I got to know them over a couple of years, but my impression of them was and is. They're used to violence and don't have the same checks and balances in place as people born and raised here. And, I don't trust them. The youngest moved here when he was about 5. He's always been a violent little bugger. I've seen him threatening to brain his slightly older sister with a rock over the littlest thing. Plus, he's destructive as hell. They smashed the hell out of that house. I'm glad I didn't rent it to them (they moved last year). Makes me worry about the future of him and his family in my country.

Two, I'm a bastard in every sense of the word. I watched that video and what came to mind was "why would he say go away kid". Yep, that's horrible, I know it. But, I also think one less insurgent you'd have to fight in the future.

I never said I was a good guy.

When they say "wounded" do they mean like in Warhammer 40k where a wounded trooper is also a dead trooper and his model is removed from the table?

I don't like words that hide the truth. I don't words that conceal reality. I don't like euphemisms, or euphemistic language. And American English is loaded with euphemisms. Cause Americans have a lot of trouble dealing with reality. Americans have trouble facing the truth, so they invent the kind of a soft language to protest themselves from it, and it gets worse with every generation. For some reason, it just keeps getting worse. I'll give you an example of that.

Okieboy: It says the insurgents were wounded, how did that not blow them all sky high???  Surely most were killed instantly.

Because "wounded" sounds a little more appealing to the average person than "blown to pieces that resembled a spilled bowl of M&M's".

here to help: Yanno... it's one thing to be glad some bad guys had their cunning plan foiled but the sheer joy being expressed here is a little gross. Those are people just trying to deter an invading army like many of us would if put in the same position.

War is disgusting and not something to fap over.

ONLY it would be those of US that are not pinko gun afraid liberals like you. You liberal gun fearing  peaceniks would be cowering in your tents while brave men and women gathered their guns together and defended YOU. How is that gun control looking now that you know that the current US leaders think nothing of killing citizens on US soil? No need to fear an invasion when the invaders are brought in by the busload, planeload, and given FREE food, shelter and education. Google Somali refugees in the US and see how well they assimilate versus wanting YOU to follow their beliefs. LOOK back on immigration records and see when was the last time the US actually aided foreign migration to the US. You may find it was the Vietnamese and those immigrants actually  Wanted to become Americanized as opposed to the current flock of "immigrants" (read invaders)_.

The Muthaship: factoryconnection: I'm just glad the kid did in fact, get out of there

Me too.  He's unlikely to want to kill more Americans for revenge.

Yeah, I wasn't nearly concerned about the kid's safety as the Apache crew was.  It looks like those insurgents were going to die that day anyway, just held up by that meddling kid.

Listening to the radio communication was worth it.  Crew discussing plan of action with ground command and the "Never mind!" was perfect.
