I09 is too negative. This whole article is complaining and nitpicking. If they don't like the show, they should just quit watching.

Missing from the list:  Every episode with Donna Noble.

God damn, but that harpy was annoying as fark.

The last part in The Power of Three really bothered me.  I kept waiting for the Doctor to save the rest of the people on the spaceship before it exploded.  Didn't happen.  Doctor: "Well, I got everybody out that mattered, so let's call it a happy ending."It seemed like the Seventh Doctor would pull this an awful lot too.  I remember watching Dragonfire, which was done during the last gasps of the original show, when John Nathan-Turner was busy turning it into something that was pretty much unwatchable.  The Doctor runs into his acquaintance Sabalom Glitz, who tells the Doctor he just sold all of his crew into slavery to an insane tyrant.  The Seventh Doctor just kind of gives him an, "Oh, you cheeky devil" kind of attitude and when he runs across one of the enslaved crew members, tells her there's nothing he can do for her.  Then at the end of the episode, his companion Mel decides to run off with Sabalom Glitz and the Doctor has no objections.  Sure, it was Mel, but still.

13.  The reflexive greenlighting of yet another list ruthlessly stripmined from the deep history of Doctor Who.

She wasn't my favorite companion, but she had some good ones.  I believe the first Donna Noble episode (The Runaway Bride?) was very cool just from the music, I may be thinking of the wrong one, but it basically had a fully composed orchestral soundtrack running through the whole thing, I really liked that.

What is it about a cement blowjob that gets people so up in arms?

You know if they hadn't mentioned that, people would have been asking how they have sex.

/and the worst part of the Sylvester McCoy regeneration wasn't the wigs, it was The Doctor dying from a bump on the head.

Nice to see that you didn't bother to actually read TFA.

And no, pointing out that Sylvester McCoy in a bad blond wig was a bad idea isn't "nitpicking".

The worst part about Dimensions in Time is the creepy disembodied floating heads of Hartnell and Troughton. Those are just so disturbingly bad.

I just watched that one the other day and I totally missed that part. I guess I was too wrapped up in being pissed about another sonic screwdriver-waving deus ex machina and wondering how much brain damage those people whose hearts had been stopped suffered.

Donna was good, but Rory and Jack are my two favorite modern companions, although Clara looks like she could be fun.

One of the women, a princess, refuses to strip down, leading the Doctor to have an internal monologue: "Don't let the fact that it might save all our lives influence you." The whole thing is a bit, well, creepy.

So...does her right to not expose her breasts outrank their right to live? That is somehow "creepy" because a woman is being told to be naked against her will, which I guess is worse than death? Wow, we have gotten so P.C. it is insane.

Yes, it was a contrived plotline in order to justify naked breasts, and complaining about that is legitimate. But given the situation the Doctor's comment is spot on. Anyone unwilling to get naked to save a group's lives is being insanely prudish. But no, somehow the Doctor's perfectly logical comment is "creepy."

The Doctor needs companions who won't take his crap. Donna was great. Jacks run was too short, and also involved Rose who I hated. I stopped watching after the first Matt Smith season, even though I liked him in the role. Too many episodes where the villain could easily simply shoot the Doctor in the face but inexplicably doesn't. Maybe I'll pick it up again sometime.

'Talons of Weng Chiang' was pretty creepy, with a tiny, ugly doll running around killing people.  Supposedly, it had a monkey brain hooked up to it.

I didn't ever much care for Rory, too whiny. Jack was fun, but Martha has been my favorite of the recent ones - just the right mix of smartass and badass.

I agree that anyone unwilling to get naked to save a group's lives is being insanely prudish. But at the same time the human mind goes:

Wait

"What situation is ever going to come up where i'm going to have to be naked to save our lives? Why is my date rape sensor kicking in? What sort of farked up kafkaesque reality must i be trapped within that hauling out my tits is going to save a life? Am i... Am i about to get raped? I think so..."

I would suggest anyone suggesting we could save someones life by being naked is actually just a big creepy perv.

God damn she was.  Stupid, pig headed, and wouldn't shut up.  So glad when they moved on from her, got tired of every episode being Donna does something stupid, and somehow it works out in the end.  The only companion worse than her was Mel.

wraith95: Martha was alright. I just expected more intelligence than she generally displayed. She was also way too in love with the doctor, I had enough of that with Rose.

This.

If they had left the whole unrequited love out of the Martha story line, I'd have a hard time choosing between her and Donna.

But, Donna, hands down. And she had the worst fate of all the new companions, which sucks.

The only companion worse than her was Mel.

She wouldn't have been that bad if they hadn't made her scream so much.
This way I'm not sure who/what's worse: Mel and her screaming or Peri and her non-stop whining.

He's an ageless savior.

What?  No, he isn't.  He's a sociopathic douche that occasionally collapses into outright genocidal psychopathy.  How little of the show do you have to have watched to think that he's ever the "good guy" absent some pretty absurd coincidences?

This... isn't exactly an obscure aspect of the series, character's been that way since season 1, episode 1.

Christian Bale:  Anyone unwilling to get naked to save a group's lives is being insanely prudish. But no, somehow the Doctor's perfectly logical comment is "creepy."

On the other hand, the guy that intentionally started several wars solely for his personal convenience and stranded his granddaughter's teacher in the past with no intention of retrieving her just because he didn't feel like it before the series had even hit ten episodes doesn't really have room to get judgy about people caring more about their dignity than someone else's welfare.

//Yes, I'm a nerd for knowing the first few doctors better than the most recent one.  But from what I've seen of the 2010 series, they had one brief season of the dude actually feeling some sort of remorse and empathy and then went straight back to good old psychopath mode.  Not that, you know, the adventures of evil mad scientist farking up the universe aren't entertaining, I will still probably watch the rest at some point.  I'm just not buying "hero".

Well, at least it was a list of badly-produced, -written, -conceived, or -acted moments in the show opposed to a list of the show's  campiest moments written by someone who really has no understanding of the show at all. Except for the one with the Mara, that was pure Doctor Who camp which just makes me wonder why they've even added it.

Poking fun at the Mara is like making fun of "Arena" from Star Trek. Well, duh, the effects and costumes are  horrid; that's part of the fun!

The one moment of Dr Who history that makes me /facepalm every time was a scene where DW was surrounded by Nimons, and the head Nimon going "KILL HIM!"

And the Nimons begin to awkwardly close in in the Doctor, and just as his Galifrean goose was about to be cooked, the head Nimon then yells out ".....but not yet!"

"KILL HIM, BUT NOT YET!"
