Doesn't appear to be a good wine on that list.

Sine Qua Non has absolutely amazing wines.  They also have some very eclectic names/labels that are better than most everything on that list.

B20
The Hussy
17th Nail To My Cranium
Pagan Poetry
The Marauder

Did someone get Tyler Perry to pick this list?

Tres gauche.

at least it's not a slide show and some of those bottles are pretty neat

huh.

A label is not a bottle.

10:1 half those wines taste indistinguishable from the cheaper brands they sit next to on the shelf.

Want to drink wine? Drink it. Lots of it. If you like a bottle try it again. Try a new type whenever you get in the store. Just try lots. Whats the worst that can happen?
You chug a bottle of wine. Thats what.

\Dont worry -- it puts hair on your chest.

Most of those all look like regular old wine bottles to me, are they talking about the labels? Most of those were nothing special either.

Most of those were fairly pedestrian, and I'm not a big wine drinker to begin with.

But I would like this bottle.

CSB: A buddy of mine got me a bottle The Kraken on his honeymoon while down in St. Bart's. I'm not much a rum drinker, but it is a tasty beverage.

/Got it for me cause I told him I'd give him $100 if he yelled "RELEASE THE KRAKEN!" before they consummated their union.
//He chickened out.

always beware the more expensive wine in the 'designer' label, The more chintz and effort that looks like has gone into stylizing, the higher a mark-up that has gone on not-wine.

See -- you did it wrong. You were supposed to bribe his wife to yell that at him before they did it.

It is funny to me - the box/bag is a huge improvement over the traditional, glass bottle (and the screw cap > artificial cork > real cork) but the best containers are always with the worst wines.

Some good wines come in boxes now. Not many because so much of the tradition surrounding wine is in the packaging. Over time we'll see more of them switch over but it's not going to be a fast change over. Just be sure to buy a nice decanter if you're going to have a dinner party since cardboard isn't very sexy.

I would drink the hell out of a wine called "Blood of Grapes".

That is all.

My entries, both from the same little winery in Healdsburg , CA. Awesome place and awesome owners.

They also have "Antidote" - both very good wines.

The other one is a custom bottle which we bought when we were there. It was artfully engraved.in support of breast cancer (yay boobies! boo cancer!). Unfortunately, I can't find a picture on the web, but when I get home I'll snap one.

Not a single bottle of Mollydooker on there? For shame. Their labels are better than most of the ones in that craptastic slideshow, and I'm sure their wines mop the floor with what was included.

This seems like one of those articles that should have included the words Featured Partner, within parenthesis, after the headline.

Ch. Mouton Rothschild has a new label designed each year.  In 1973 the label was designed by Picasso.  Unfortunately, 1973 was not a good year for Bordeaux.

I usually base my wine purchase on the label. I almost bought some that had a flaming bear on it, but I can't seem to find it now. I also like the bottle design of the wine bottle that's slightly distorted and is covered in dirt like it's been recently discovered in a cellar.

Has anyone mentioned yet that this is actually an article about wine bottle labels?
