I'm not sure I've ever really played a good Simpsons video game. They should have just adapted some of these from the show. I'd enjoy Rocky vs. Clara Peller.

These aren't video games based on the Simpsons license. These are video games in the TV show the Simpsons that the characters have been seen playing.

What about that Simpsons Crazy Taxi knockoff?

The Simpsons Arcade Game

  was pretty awesome imo.

That was by far their best offering (which is to say it was decent), although I have some nostalgic memories of the arcade game.

The arcade game, and Hit & Run are by far the best offerings from their IP.

Also, the "Waterworld" one made me laugh.

I want to build my own Devil's Advocate pinball machine.  That would be awesome.

Some of these games make me wonder why doesn't some fan boy make a few of these in flash or something?  I know there is a bit of a challenge with trying to create an entire game based off of one small clip of "Escape from Grandma's House", but the creative fun in creating a game and hashing out the pend up frustrations of visiting grandma and grandpa, the 2 day trip in the car, the two week stay during summer vacation, heading home to find out that your friends had the best birthday/water fight/party of all time and while the entire street was engaged in the epic water war and party, you were bored at grandma's house listening to her bore you with stories about people who died decades before you were born and worse yet, she's not even talking to you, but to your parents who have already heard the stories already, but not as many times as my dad has but is too nice to ask her to shut the hell up and turn the tv back on, and it's the mid 1980s, so the Gameboy isn't even invented yet.

Fun fact: Waterworld is a real farking game.  It was crapped out on the Nintendo Virtual Boy console.

Every single one of those, even the Bible game and that word game in the school, looks like it would be much better than Bart's Nightmare on the SNES actually is. And they used to charge fifty quid for that shiate.

I would imagine it's pretty damned unfappable, so, that's kind of unsettling.

IIRC, Simpsons Hit and Run got sued by the makers of Crazy Taxi for being too much of a direct gameplay clone.

I've played all of two Simpsons video games, both waaaaay back when.

One was the arcade game, I'd pump quarters into that thing all day long.
The other was the NES game Bart Vs The Space Mutants. Nintendo hard has meaning here.

Haven't played anything else since.

I barely play video games, but I (like many others in this thread) was addicted to Hit & Run for the PS2.

I was obsessed with Bart's Nightmare for about two months.  It was a terrible game, but I wanted to beat it so badly.

Other than the RWBY trailers, there's not much to see on youtube but funny cat videos and the twilight of the human race.

/I keed, there's funny dog videos too

I had the same problem when I was like... I dunno, 11, when it first came out? Even to this day if I fire up a Sega emulator I'll give it a shot. the minigames could have been a lot of fun, but were either too long or too unresponsive. Let's not even talk about the street that is essentially the world map.

Simpsons Arcade was really so well done that I still to this day don't understand why they haven't made more just like it, using updated characters/plots etc.

That was Simpsons Road Rage.  Hit and Run was more of a GTA/sandbox style.  And was awesome.

I had the one on Game Boy where Bart was in summer camp; I think it was covered by Mike Matei last year.

Yes, it did actually suck as much as he made out.... but it was one of the few games that my brother and I had, so we played the hell out of it.

F--k Virtual Bart. I could never beat that bastard of a game. The motorcycle level was too tough and I always ran out of time on the egg-throwing chapter. I could never get the hang of the water slide level either... Come to think of it, that entire game was a nightmare.

You see the Acclaim logo there, next to the Nintendo Seal of Quality?

If labeling were truthful those two would never have been seen together.
