Oh, sure, beer in the can is fine on Fark.com. But you insert one jarful of pickles...

I tried that in the can once, couldn't sit right for days after

This headline and the one about Patrick Stewart getting married ("Engaged") are tied for Headline That Told the Whole Story for me today.

Well done.

Tom_Slick: Life Imitates SNL in the 90s?

Fitting, since FappedCompany is a website that should have stayed in the 90's

Good headline.  I still reiterate my theory that large corporations should NOT make political statements.  You stand to lose more than you stand to gain, in my opinion, and that goes for taking a stance on EITHER side of the issue

I'm going to change mine to that tonight, see if anyone notices.

No self respecting gay person would be caught dead drinking Bud Light.

Cannot view in Canuckistan. I assume that's the Schmitts Gay Beer ad, right?
You can drink it while you drive your Adobe and not risk any damage.

When I think of "self respect" rarely does "Bud Light" also appear in the sentence.

Of course, in the morning you can balance everything out with a bowl of Colon Blow, then go toss the Happy Fun Ball around with the kids.

If you know who is eventually going to win, it's a slam dunk. There is no way the homosexuals will lose this.

As with most issues, you've got three groups. The pro-gays, the anti-gays, and the don't-cares. The don't cares are the largest group here, and "not caring" bodes well for the pro-gay side.

On the plus side, at least the gays are OK now.  Just not the marriage to each other part.

They should be going after tongue amputees, instead.  It's a demographic more likely to be willing to drink Bud Light.

Plus from InBev's perspective, the most vocal anti-gays also disapprove of alcohol consumption so that group is not their customer anyways.

What's awkward about it? "Their" can is implied in your sentence. Who else's can are they going to put their beer in, or, would someone like to get farked in someone else's can? Neither make sense.

I don't always like beer in the can.
But when I do, I prefer a Griesedieck.

2013-03-27 05:11:59 PM
Smart move on Bud's part. The only portion of the population with a significant percentage opposed to gay marriage is people over 50, who don't drink a lot of cheap light beer.

I just got in a fight with a friend of mine who said this was pointless because "gays don't drink Bud Light".

Which...annoys the shiat out of me. Because I'm not gay and I'm pro marriage equality.

In fact, the vast majority of people who are pro marriage equality aren't gay. We have empathy.

That's an odd thing to think.  How does one consider that gays have unusual/different tastes in beer?

Go to any gay bar... same beer as anywhere else.

2013-03-27 05:30:34 PM
Bud light (budweiser brands generally, but Light specifically) has been one of the biggest corporate supporters the gay movement has ever had. They were really the first major brand to realize that gays were a valuable demographic, and they started advertising in gay periodicals (newspapers, not porno) back in the days of
Harvey Milk. A number of publications were only able to stay in operation because Bud went against the grain in the 80s.

I believe "misery loves company" would be more appropriate.

CSB: with a buddy on a plane, smoking smoking hot stewardess or whatever they call themselves, cute as hell, filling out every inch of her costume, we order sodas (both hung over as shiat) and she asks if we want cups of ice as well.  I speak up and tell her I would love mine on ice - then point to my buddy and say -he takes it in the can.

/ok not that cool of a story, not to mention I was the ony one amused.

I think the whole point is that equality isn't (or should never be) a "political issue".  It's a disgrace that it is or ever has been.

This picture makes that point better:

Yeah, especially if it's a dive like the Stonewall. I don't think they have anything BUT Bud Light and the equivalent  horse piss.

I work for an A-B distributor and I can remember seeing gay pride stuff in their gift catalogs probably 15 years ago. One guy was a homophob so we put a BL gay pride keychain on his truck key.
