The deer ran around a corner of the store, and Bianco hopped out of the truck, gun in hand, and "began firing multiple rounds at the deer," Lucas wrote in charging documents.
"The defendant pursued the deer through the parking lot and across Old William Penn Highway, where he killed the deer.

Replace "deer" with "no-good streetpunk" and you've summed up an episode of "Hunter".

Awww, geez. I don't know a single responsible hunter that would be OK with this little tidbit FTA: "The defendant pursued the deer through the parking lot and across Old William Penn Highway, where he killed the deer. The defendant then loaded the deer into his vehicle and took it to a meat processor for butchering,"

If you don't know how to field dress your own game you shouldn't be allowed to shoot anything more lively than an empty beer can.

Why does the government get to decide when someone can and can't harvest an animal?  Big government stepping all over our Constitutional rights again.

FTA At the Resort Plaza Walmart, people can save a dollar. And, apparently, waste a buck as well. By shooting it with a handgun, that is. Which is why Arcangelo Bianco Jr., 40, finds himself in trouble with the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

There's a herd of antelope that sometimes comes down from their usual haunts on the golf course to the local Wal-mart. Graze on the manicured green grass, maybe do a little shopping...snicker at the folks grinding their teeth because so far nobody's pulled a stunt like TFA with them...

I rather like seeing them, actually...

It doesn't specify one way or the other.  I don't know that the article needs to state "He then spent 30 minutes removing various viscera from the deer's abdominal cavity.  Witnesses state he was seen holding his nose and cursing profusely, which led several onlookers to believe he may have punctured the animal's stomach."

It would have been so much more amusing, though. I do have to admit that the idea of endangering your own life by running across a road to get a 10-pointer after already missing it repeatedly in a WalMart parking lot is amusing, but only in the "that guy's Darwin Award nomination is going to crack me up some day" kind of way.

1) Anyone who would approve of this is pretty much ruled out of being a responsible hunter by definition.
2) Field dressing the deer isn't butchering it. You're (me at least) taking out the guts and stuff you don't want to pay the butcher to process, and you have to learn how to do it sometime.

I don't really see the point in making someone who's already taken the time and energy to pass hunter's ed, buy a hunting license, and expend X amount of effort trying to get a deer watch and learn with little of the upside. My group of friends is always willing to walk someone through field dressing, but the person who shot the deer always has to do it. Reap what you sew, as it were. We don't invite people to come with us if they won't do it themselves. YMMV

In my family, the first deer killed is field dressed by an experienced hunter with the rookie hunter watching closely.  The next deer the rookie is responsible for dressing.  My cousins ex-husband wouldn't hunt with us after he shot his first one because of this rule.  I really didn't like being around him anyway.

That, my friends, is exactly the type of typical asshat that caused me to move far away from Pennsylvania and never hunt again. You have no idea how many assclowns are out in the woods on any given day, regarless of what season it is in the keystone state, that will fire at will at anything they think they can sneak into their freezer.

I can definitely see the benefit of that, but we walk through it with any new people after they bag their first deer. I've always learned better hands on anyway.

What a beautiful creature...
www.kimballstock.com
...better kill it.

Honestly, I hunt too but there no good reason to shoot at an animal like a deer in a public place and especially WITH A PISTOL. Regardless of it being in season, sometimes you just need to observe.
Like while driving on the road, or in a business parking lot, or on someone else's front lawn. The impulse to kill an animal presenting no threat to you or the general public should not override common sense.
