Torture is OK as long as they're people we don't like.

Extraordinary rendition?

We'll be lucky if some of these guys don't sue Canada. Gander, Newfoundland is on the flight path many CIA flights used to take people from the US to gulags in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, or vice versa depending on the country of origin and the country hired to do the torturing.

Now that Syria and Egypt are out of the gift loop, I'm guessing we are talking maybe Bulgaria or Romania or, yes, maybe Poland.

Which reminds me...

Q. Why do most Polish names end with "ski?"

A. They can't spell toboggan.

In the US, they only subjected prisoners to forced nudity; temperature extremes; sleep deprivation; solitary confinement; alternating sensory deprivation and sensory overload, including "scary" sounds on loudspeakers at high volume, prolonged shackling and withdrawal of food and medicine.

Why did the Polish interrogator lock the guy in a swimming pool with nothing to do?

He was told to waterbored the prisoner.

Sounds like solitary confinement in any US prison.

Honestly, Poland should be sued for having a flag that's dull, unimaginative and virtually identical to those of Indonesia and Monaco.

www.tours.am and  www.mundovisas.com.mx and www.mundovisas.com.mx?

Seriously,Poland. Get your shiat together.

Republicans supported a torture regime and are still trying to cover up that turd in their litter box.

2013-03-27 02:02:25 PM
They would sue the US if the Bush and now the Obama admin didn't hide behind the States Secrets BS they keep using to block these folks from their day in court.

This guy might be a baddie but all the other folks who were cleared after being tortured and held in prisons without charges at GITMO and abroad deserve their day in court. Almost all the countries of origins have may some semblance of restitution, the US, the primary bad actor in this nonsense has yet to admit to any wrong doing at all.

Land of the free home of the brave my ass.

So you have done some serious independent research? Or are you simply taking the word of the very organization that needed to rationalize torturing the guy?

I hope it is not the guy who told Obama where Osama bin laden was.

More like one civilian population from a random city disappears every turn, never to be seen again.  Including your own cities.

The USA  is about as legitimate a power and governance in the eyes of the world and in the eyes of its own citizens as a kid playing on an anthill whit a magnifying glass.

We were once credible heroes.
Now we are just pants wetting scumbags.

As the only person who apparently bothered to click the link, he's not suing for "damages from torture," Subby. He's suing because Poland is withholding information that's crucial to his defense:

A Guantanamo detainee who allegedly revealed valuable information about 9-11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohamed is suing Poland in a European court.
Abu Zubaydah's lawyers say he was held in a CIA black site in Poland, which they say has withheld critical information needed to investigate his case. He was allegedly held in Poland between 2002 and 2003.

Shiat, I know that Farkers don't read the links, but when Submitters don't even bother to do so? Is this place really becoming Slashdot?

The detainees should not be able to complain about the torture.
