And this piece of advanced technology is called a track-ball. Far too advanced for the primitive western societies.

Fools!  You can't play Starcraft with a trackball.

Why's everyone hating on the trackball?

I know its fun to shiat all over NK and their behind the times tech, but the US and USSR had much more primitive computers hooked up to their ICBMs.

NK isn't there with ballistic missile tech yet, but you don't need a cray from 2013 to fire off a missile.  You can make the calculations with paper and pen.

I wonder how that goes down.

They couldn't even afford to get the latest version.

I want to see what's on the screen (if there even is a screen).

More than likely there is nothing in the box, and they are just posing for a photo.

Notice the switch on the bottom (in the full picture). I think we can sneak some secret spies in there to turn off that switch in the last minute. Or how about the surge protector behind it, looks like a little sprinkle of water could take it out.

Only that trackball.  Tried one of those once, hated it.  I like the "Trackman" version better.

I have the snazzier version. In your face, Kim Jong-un!

Dear Kim Jong-un:

You are the clowniest, most retarded, most inept, most clueless leader on the world stage right now and your father was the same way. Congratulations on continuing to ruin your worthless nation.

(I hope his spies read this thread.)

"And look here, Supreme Leader! We have the internets. This is Internet Explorer 4. VERY advanced. And look you have email! Someone will sell you some V!gkr4, and a nice man in Nigeria is willing to let you help him funnel funds out of the country. That could bring in millions of dollars!"

I mean really... I understand that there's a lot of them. But other than canon fodder, what do they intend to do, be poor at us?

Kind of annoying. Not that Best Korea has any good technology, but what the photo showed had nothing to do with it. Fancy leather chairs don't improve weapon effectiveness. Still though it's hard to be intimidated when it looks like your uncle's garage gaming rig from 1997.

2013-03-27 12:57:09 PM
So is there an actual computer in that big box, or just some little North Korean dude drawing on a plexiglass window with a magic marker and waving a flashlight around?

2013-03-27 12:57:47 PM
Maybe I'll get a metal box like that for my computer.

I would like to focus on that last sentence there:
Do what now?

I'm wondering about that, too. There seems to a distinct lack of ventilation slots on that vintage 1950s-era cabinet.

Did you ever see what their space launch control center looks like?

The whole "made on a shoestring budget with stuff we got from Staples and Office Depot" is like like a thing for them.  They want to be taken seriously as a world power and strategic threat, but their supposedly intimidating command and control centers looking more low-budget than a Star Trek fan-film on Youtube doesn't help.

I use the Trackman Wheel, myself. I love that thing, probably more than one should love a computer peripheral. It earned the appellation "Trackball of Death" at several LAN parties a long time ago.

That's not a particularly large heel for a standard men's dress shoe.

Other than the keyboard/mouse.....my grandpa had a Lionel Train layout that looked like that.
Lots of dpdt's for switches and I think that same exact radar dish came on a Lionel flat car.

Kinda sad when even a circa 1971 Pong cabinet looks more high tech than what Fatty DingDongs is sitting at.

Is it just me; or do those Best Koreans look a little like mannequins?
