Actual quote from cop to me when I was 16 about my dyed black mohawk, black shirt, black jeans and combat boots:  "Does your father know you dress like that?"

This is kind of a question:  31 year old punk rocker with a primary job on tour?
Also, who got him the job at the Port Authority?  I'm guessing Sergeant Dad or Lieutenant Uncle has egg on his face as well.

"We all know punk rock is aboutwearing a torn Bad Company tee and kicking over little kids' toy trucks in Central Park playgrounds while secretly jamming out to Fall Out Boy in the privacy of your own bedroom "

I'm confused. Does the writer know anything about rock 'n roll? Bad Company is about as far from punk as you can get and still be called rock. I can think of a whole lot of band names to use there that would work. Did he mean Bad Religion? Is he implying that a punk rocker would wear a torn Bad Company shirt ironically? I don't think so. Punk precedes ironic t shirts by 30 years, and I don't think ironic t shirts are punk at all. Or is he just clueless? These are important questions that need answers.

The entire american musical scene is fail at this point.
Been listening to music since I was born in '56.
Once thing has been for sure. The first two years of the 70's were golden.
There were no rules.
After that, paradigms changed.
