Fiance has it and loves it.  To me its like 3 hours of tribal chants or something.  The lyrics are just repeated ad naseum for like 10 minutes after the song should have ended.

"Dance!  Don't hold the wall!" for 14 minutes is farking intolerable.

The selling of Justin Timberlake as a legitimate artist is one of the greatest public relations campaigns in the modern era of entertainment. Does he use the same representation as Jennifer Lopez?

No shiat. Subby is probably super proud of his John Cougar farking Mellencamp albums, too.

Just lower the bar enough, and shiat can seem like caviar. Timberlake's level of difficulty was NSYNC.

Come on now. He may not be an incredible musician but he is a talented performer.
He's a good dancer, a decent actor, has a pretty firm grasp of comedic performance judging by various roles and his SNL stints, and as a musician has at least enough talent to outpace the dregs of the pop scene.

But what are you REALLY expecting out of a pop/dance music performer? Maybe the issue is that you just don't like the genre.

This.  His music may not be my forte, but we live in a world where the Kardashians make a ton of money, so I feel pretty good someone with talent is successful.

So, his music style isn't that good, but he's really good at it.
And there are a lot of annoying talentless people making money, but he's earned at least some of it.

Does everybody else get to benefit this much from our collectively lowered standards?

LewDux: Justin Timberlake The 20/20 Experience FULL ALBUM PART 1
Pt.2

Let's see what all the fuss is about

Thanks. A buddy of mine described it as non traditional JT, it's good, but it's not aimed at tweens, but more of an adult crowd. It's good that he's trying new stuff. I haven't gotten around to checking it out, but I will now.

2013-03-27 12:39:54 PM
He's one of the only pop artists I respect.  I'm a classic rocker myself but the guy has done well, and seeing him at SARStock made an impression on me.  He apologized to the crowd because he was playing with all rock/blues acts.  His must ain't my cup but he's a decent guy.

Yes.  I used to work in a call center.  Most of the time, it was more about who wasn't the most terrible and rewarding that person.

2013-03-27 12:47:55 PM
Good for him.  It seems the marketing leading up to the release, and him being an all round likeable guy paid off.

I personally love the new album.  It's not traditional pop, and I do enjoy most of the extended songs that switch beat/tempo mid-song.  It's a pretty cool concept for a pop artist to venture into extendend length songs for an entire album.

Listening to it on the drive to work this morning actually.  Now part of my regular rotation.

"Let the Groove Get In" has finally hooked me.  Love the various influences in that song.  From an african sample, to a spanish big band feel, then to a very Quincy Jones/MJ inspired portion, it all just works.  Would love to see that song performed live.  It would be quite the spectacle I think

/Best song is Pusher Love Girl
//Love "Don't Hold the Wall", especially the tonal switch half way through
///Guilty pleasure is "Srawberry Bubblegum"  LOL
///Wife loves the album too

His music does nothing for me.    But the couple of tunes that I've managed to sit through, he seems like a valid artist.  I'm old,  but when I was 16, '"funky town" was number one.   enough said.

/enjoyed it but never purchased it.
