MythDragon: bulldg4life: How is someone slightly towards banning marriage equality?

Well, marriage has always been defined as "the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law" (Merriam Webster). I am not apposed to civil unions by any means. But it seems that 'marriage' is man and wife. I guess it brings up the argument that if you can marry whatever you want, why not a horse or vacuum cleaner?

But that said, I think if you want to give another man a vigorous butt-rodgering, that's your own business. You want to live together with the same sex for the rest of your life, and share your health benifits? That's fine too. It just seems to me that an actual 'marriage' should be opposite sex. If a gay couple gets unionized, why do they need to be 'married?'

to sum it up, by being 'slightly' for the DOMA, I think it should pass, but if it does not, I will say "oh well" and go about my life. It's not important enough for me to protest at all.

Really? Merriam-Webster has been around since "always"?

I think it is great when adults pull kids, who are still trying to learn the multiplication tables and how to spell California, into a moral/political battle. The child is protesting and knows less about the rights/procedures/whatever of the topic than 95% of the adults. It isn't just the gay thing it is any other protest too. But having a 11 year old protest, either for or against, gay rights is stupid. They have no concept of the whole picture, they are only mirroring mom and dad or mom and mom or dad and dad.

RatOmeter: Dinjiin: I like #46.  I've always had a problem regarding religious fundamentalists who pick and choose which Bible verses they want to follow.

I like that one too, but the "wrong side of history" signs are the strongest, truest in my view.  Especially #5 "Not long ago our marriage was illegal".

/mixed marriage

Clarence Thomas has a mixed race marriage. I'm looking forward to his opinion.

MythDragon: I thought you knew this already, you can catch the gay. Like the flue season this year, the gay one was pretty bad. Everyone is home sick with the gay this week.

Most people aren't born gay.  They just get sucked into it.

That link's not biased. Not a bit. Here's 59 pictures promoting our agenda, and one vaguely against us so we can say that we're being fair. Seriously guys, at this rate, Fark lite is going to seem overpriced.

Nice to have a passion for a cause.

2nd Amendment, for example.
