And in "The Death of Newspapers" news we go to Calgary, where the Sun's shiatty website blocks the first 6 paragraphs of the story with a pop-up video that you can't remove.

Calgary Flames captain Jarome Iginla was interviewed after the loss to the Western Conference leading Chicago Blackhawks, but was interrupted by Mr. T who indicated that he had a profound lack of time for what he called "jibba jabba".

actually considering they were playing the Hawks, I'm thinking the Flames did well only losing 2-0. As opposed to a more talent representing score such as 20-0.

So, we get two hockey threads- one about Mr. T and the other about Calgary sucking.  Really glad nothing else interesting happened in the NHL :P

The lockout did kill one thing - Fark hockey threads.

We'll get more love in the playoffs.

Let's be honest, Mr. T is more entertaining than watching Kings hockey this season.
The Pens get enough handys the way it is...when they hit 17 wins then let the fellating begin.

Penner's tweet about the trip to the White House:
"After careful consideration I've decided not to visit the White House today for political reasons LOL JK I'm not an idiot!Free trip? I'm in!"

How does Jay Feaster have a job, again?

Killer Cars: How does Jay Feaster have a job, again?

His signings have been truly bizarre.

- Begin? Uh ok. Not to knock Begin, but he's not exactly the guy we need.
- signs Sarich (waste of space and minutes) to $2.5 million for 2 years and sits him 14 of 16 games.
- without question what the Flames need most is a centre, so Feaster signs Bryan McGrattan.

If he bumbles the Iginla deal and he ends up staying put at the deadline, there will be a lynch mob.

/still hoping Jarome goes to the Pens
//if not them, the Bruins

I still chuckle when I see the Atlanta Flames Thrashers Winnipeg Jets leading the SE division and therefore third in the conference standings.

Kiprusoff worked his ass off and had some brilliant saves. Of course I'm glad Chicago won, but he deserves some recognition.

Don't forget that the formerly division leading Hurricanes seem to have forgotten what sport they're supposed to be playing.

\fark me.
\\Maybe next year.

I saw the highlights on NHLN.  He was all over the place making saves.  Totally unorthodox - reminded me a lot of Hasek's style.

Speaking of the Flames, Iginla is apparently a scratch for tonight at COL. I think that's the 1st sign of a trade in the works.

Yeah, I'm following TSN's Bob McKenzie and he's reported the same. Could be coincidence, but my gut says it's not.

/Does royally suck for Calgary, though
//But if Iginla goes to Boston and they win the Cup, is it repayment for them trading Ray Bourque for him to win a Cup?

McKenzie is reporting that Iginla being scratched may just be a ploy by Calgary to drive the price up.  Hell why not?

I stopped watching when it was 4-2, then I came back to see it was tied 5-5 in OT.  Wow, the Bruins just cannot keep a 3rd period lead this year.

Iginla traded to Bruins  #TSN

Apparently the first round pick is conditional on Iginla re-signing with the Bruins.

I think this ends the debate, if there even was one anymore. The Flames have, by far, the worst ownership/management group in the entire NHL.

Idiots hiring idiots to do idiotic things. It's the Flames way.

Haha what a farking twist. No one expected that.

Still, the actual trade is worse than the speculated one. Dumbest franchise by far.

Well, it looks to me that without knowing anything about the prospects; the big difference is that Pittsburgh gave Calgary a guaranteed 1st round draft pick while Boston was offering a conditional 1st rd pick, the condition being that Iginla signed a extension.

One last thing- we now have at least 2 teams that if they don't win the Cup this year; it will be a massive failure: Chicago (based off of their hot start) and Pittsburgh. Some may want to put Anaheim into that mix as well.

Of those teams, the only one where I think heads will roll if they fail is Pittsburgh. There's a bit of a "mortgage the future" thing going on there and I don't think Mario Lemieux will like it if they come up short.

Im OK with this. Its a good rsk.

How much would a team like Toronto or Montreal pay to have one shot this good at a cup even if it meant they would be in the cellar for 5 years after?
