Whew.....way to go USMNT

2013-03-27 12:27:06 AM
Now, if only the US can show world class talent or scoring chemistry. Still, at least their world cup picture is still in focus. Feel bad for Mexico, so talented, still looking in from the outside.

2013-03-27 12:27:19 AM
USA wins 0-0.

wat?

Oh, I see it now. We're 1-1-1 and they're 0-0-3.

They say a tie is like kissing your sister.

This is more like kissing your insanely hot step-sister.

Getting points at the Azteca is always good, even if it is one.
Chepo might be feeling the heat a bit now.

2013-03-27 12:28:08 AM
A point is better than nothing. I did feel the US side was way too passive and their counter was slow.

Classic us performance? We had like 2 shots with 0 on goal. We got outshot by farking costs rica in the blizzard. We need to be able to become offensive.

A W is still a W. 3 points is 3 points. Doesn't matter how we get them, just that we get them.

We purposely  went in to play for the draw, hope for a counter if we could get it.  We got the draw, and Mexico is looking up at the group.  Not losing in Azteca is a win.

2013-03-27 12:32:28 AM
This is the best I've felt about a 0-0 final probably ever.

Holy balls, was that 15 corners for Mexico?

To be fair, the '97 was more impressive, down to 10 men. (Of course, taking Jeff Agoos off the field, even if it's a red card, dramatically improves your team).

good....got a point to help us advance to World Cup. General rule is to always win at home and at worst tie on the road

steamingpile: OK so is a tie good or bad for the USA?

Good for the prospect of qualifying. Bad in the sense that we are a far cry from the team that beat Spain a couple of years ago. We might make the cup, but we're not gonna do crap in it, unless we show some ball control, and scoring touch.

2013-03-27 12:35:25 AM
I think this go round, you cannot count on wins on the road. EVERYONE is punching way above their weight (except Mexico).

what eagle said, also Azteca (Mexicos home field) is possibly the hardest road game in all international soccer.  We usually lose there, so a tie is great, and now Mexico is 0-0-3 (no wins lol).

Right now concacaf is sending panama, costa rica and the US to the world cup. That would be quite the embarrassment for the continent.

2013-03-27 12:38:56 AM
Under the circumstances, a draw is just fine. Also...

Koman Coulibaly: desertgeek: Koman Coulibaly: That wasn't offside.

You're supposed to defend officials. Stop breaking character.

World class officials call it like they see it.  And if you were too drunk to remember your middle name you might recall I've disagreed with numerous calls in the past,

Actually, I was following the match from work (was driving home when it ended, thus the silence) and so I am NOT drunk.

2013-03-27 12:38:59 AM
And Mexico still hasn't scored a goal at home
