It's not actually bullshiat, it's textbook flim flam and a good example.

You want a publishing deal, the punters want entertainment, the publishers wanna make some money. Take a well known phenomena like hearing voices in white noise, record some white noise, and drop some names. Call it necromancy and viola. The impressive bit is saying Hitler probably really isn't Hitler because the dead are liars looking for attention, as a nod to the other pros out there that you're in on the game, and still selling units. That's the flourish, the icing, the gilding on the lily.

There's nothing supernatural about that game.
