[starts reading, thinks:] "Wow, that's sad that she has fallen on such hard times.  I'm really feeling sorry for her...

Warwick says she spends $5,000 per month on housekeeping ... and $4,000 per month on a personal assistant.

...Um... no, sorry, Ms. Warwick, you lost my sympathy there.

A Network of friends, perhaps?

Son of a biatch, I just snotted a french fry

I once sat at a sidewalk cafe in Philly having afternoon drinks with friends as the Psychic Reader shop across the street was being emptied of its stuff due to eviction. The same joke as in the headlined was made a good 3 dozen times.

And there you are
Without a friend
You pack your car
And drive away

2013-03-26 08:32:35 PM
Keep smiling
Keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me for sure
That's what friends are for
In good times, in bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for

Here's my Dionne Warwick CSS:
She and her extensive entourage stayed in a hotel where I worked as a waitress in the restaurant (circa 1995). The morning after her performance at the university, they skipped out on the $15K bill and said the university would pay it (hers, yes, but not the rest and the ridiculous amount of food and beverages they consumed).

As you might have guessed, she did not tip either.

I'm surprised to hear she's still alive.  I'm surprised I remember who that is.

I could have lived another 100,000 years and never thought, "Hey...whatever became of Dionne Warwick?"

Likewise.

Maybe she can get a gig in San Jose, but does she know the way there?

Regardless, awesome voice.

For some reason when I see Dionne Warwick I think Dusty Springfield.

I don't know why.

I guess Willow doesn't pull in the residuals like it used too.

2013-03-26 10:26:03 PM
I'll always remember her as Wicket the Ewok.

Hey subby, Carlos Mencia called. He wants his material back.

I think Whitneys' death affected her cash flow somewhat...I would almost bet that Houston was giving her the occasional 6 figure check...

I saw what you did there...ahead of time...

She never knew deadbeats before, then came you, then came you.

/She'll never spend this way again

"Warwick says she spends $5,000 per month on housekeeping ... and $4,000 per month on a personal assistant."

And that's where I ran out of farks to give.

You mean Isaac Hayes didn't leave her any of that sweet South Park dosh in his will, in thanks for Walk on By?

2013-03-26 10:48:02 PM
She has 20 grand a month coming in.  Zero sympathy.

2013-03-26 10:51:09 PM
Maybe she could get a gig parking cars or pumping gas.

2013-03-26 10:51:42 PM
Tough shiat. You had a couple of hits decades ago and then you scammed people. How long did you think that money would last? No sympathy for her what so ever.

It's more/worse then that; she has close to $21 grand a month coming in.  That's close to a quarter million a year.

Yeah. I hate the neologism "welp," but welp, there's there's your problem.

You guys are assholes. *I'm* her personal assistant.

I am guessing the bankruptcy is just an accounting ploy to avoid some outstanding debt.

I don't want to make you all feel old, but she did those commercials 20 years ago.

Well technically it was other people's material.

Call it what you want, but "accounting ploy" is also the law of the land. And everyone is entitled to it IF THEY ARE TRULY BROKE. She's clearly not.

FARK her.

With what she pays per year in housekeeping I could almost completely pay off my mortage.  Any sympathy I may have had for her is floating in a toilet bowl.

If she can spend that much a month on housekeeping and an assistant then financially she's doing faaaar better than most people. She can complain about being broke when she has less than $100 a month left after paying normal bills, like utilities.

$5000 a month on housekeeping? What does she do? Drop a deuce wherever she happens to be instead of using the terlit?

when they honored Burt bacarach, or Hal David at the White House, she was not there to perform the songs she made famous. Why?
While I'm at it, why was Jagger there for american blues people?

Yup. Just hunkers down, spreads out and lays a hot brown stack right there on the carpet.
Which goes to proving that you can land a $60k job with an MFA in contemporary poetry if you're willing to do the right things.

Psychic enemies, eh.  Would you say that she was a veteran of the psychic wars?   1000 of them, in fact?

What a shame. I hear all that she has left is foolish pride. Guess I'll say a little prayer for her.

Clean your own house, biatch.

I can never decide what makes me angrier, that people like her take advantage of idiots or that there are so many idiots lining up cash in hand.

John Buck 41: Maybe she can get a gig in San Jose, but does she know the way there?

From San Francisco, simply go south on US 101
From Oakland, east on I-880
From Los Angeles, go north on I-5 to exit 403B and follow route 152 (Pacheco Pass Highway) around the San Luis Reservoir, and stay on that road until it connects up with US 101-North in Gilroy, and follow it up. Or, if you feel adventurous and like the scenic route, Just take the Pacific Coast Highway up to Santa Cruz, then follow route 17 north.
