get it straight lad. Pikies are Irish Travellers, who have a culture that appears the same form the outside but has nothing to do with The Rom, the folks this article is about.

While there is nothing inferior about someone who has some form of nomadic ancestry, there is something extremely undesirable about those who live that lifestyle.

It's funny in a lot of the stories and shows about travelers, roms ,gypsies they all get pissed that people sterotype them and then go out of their way to live up to the stereotype.

My parents often threatened to sell me to the gypsies, but apparently it wasn't worth the effort.

CSB:  my best girl friend who is not my wife, her brother is basically "special needs" due to a congential birth defect.  which is really not i guess relevant but adds a layer to the story.

so one day, "Svetlana" shows up at the family's home (due to his condition, he lives with parents).  they have no idea who she is, but she's like, "hi, i'm olga/svetlana/natassja [insert stock eastern european name], i'm here to meet husband, i travel from mother russia to live america dream!"

the family is like "UHHHHHHHHHHHHH.......yyyyyyyyyyyyyyeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh.......about thaaaaaaaaaat....."

her parents call her, and tell her basically, "babysit svetlana for a few days while we talk some damn sense into your brother and whatever you do, don't let him see her or she him!"  so my friend said she spent like, a week or whatever, dragging this european chick all over town while eventually, the parents made some kind of arrangment to send her back to Moscow or Kiev or what the fark.

they still tease him about her.  what are you gonna do.

30 years tops before this starts happening in this country. Maybe 20.

Plutocratic Revolution

Step 1: Bribe politicians to support free trade
Step 2: Lay off workers, outsourcing production to third world
Step 3: Bribe politicians to ignore illegal immigration and maintain or increase tax and welfare subsidies for child rearing
Step 4: Lower wages further as a higher and higher population races to the bottom to compete for fewer and fewer opportunities
Step 5: Profit, profit, profit!!!
Step 6: When the 1% has ALL the money and most people are incapable of meeting their own survival needs, take two or three wives and another four or five girlfriends on the side in a sex for support scheme.

It's all about sex. Money and power are only used to satisfy our evolutionary psychological need for lots of sex with desirable partners. The 1%, consisting of mostly men, has been systematically trending this country toward making it impossible for beautiful women to survive without having sex with them. Likewise you can expect what few women are in the 1% to rack up a bunch of Chippendale dancers and Guatemalan pool boys.

$3300 to $6000 American dollar to buy a wife?
Sheesh.
My husband got off cheap.  $28 for a marriage license and I think I paid for it.  After wedding supper, chicken salad on a croissant and a Fuzzy Navel for me--probably paid for it too.  25 years ago

How did she get in the country?  There's a ton of paperwork to get someone a fiance visa, including tons of proof of relationship, and they're usually denied if you haven't met in person previously.

Do you think that sentence is explained differently (from the obvious meaning) or is it just not taken heed of?

(Also, thank you for being civil. I was expecting some flames along the lines of "because it is an outdated shackle of the patriarchy" or something)

I am not a biblical scholar; I cannot attest to the written language. There's a thoughtful analysis in this link, however:

http://bible.org/article/what-head-covering-1-cor-112-16-and-does-it -a pply-us-today

Note, again, I'm not a biblical scholar; I'm an agnostic who takes the side that I feel that there's no way you could positively identify any entity as God or a god or whatever, due to the fact that any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. Therefore, someone comes down from the sky and says "hey, I'm god.". There's no way for him or it to prove it.

I'm assuming that you're religious based on your username, and I mean not to intrude upon your beliefs. If I had learned from a young age that the colour of the sky was orange and someone disagreed and said it was blue, who would be correct? What is blue? What is orange?

>"We are maintaining the morals of the children by marrying them off at a young age," said Kosta Kostov, a spectator at the fair. "If she's not a virgin, the bride's family has to give the money back."

So this would be his first time dealing with Gypsies I take it.

Long link.

Word of the day: exegetical.

As for your questions, orange is the color of oranges, if we rename them, we can rename the color.
Blue is your color when you are sad.
:)
Seriously though, your message is not lost on me. However, if we agree to call blue by any other name, we can both agree whether the sky matches that color or not. We are also agreeing that that color exists.
But... if I tell you this orange is sweet, would you not taste it?
