Oh, this changes everything.

It totally convinces me that military weapons with 100-round drums are necessary.

Please define "military weapon".

BTW, my Mossberg shotgun and Beretta handgun are used by the military.  Should they be banned?

Gun owners are always completely responsible and there are never accidents. WTF is Bloomberg's problem?

I saw this ad this morning and thought, that guy has never owned a weapon in his life.

I laughed.

/end of story.

Yes, ban all 'military' weapons (and anything else in the arsenal that isn't a harshly worded letter) from public use.
That way the government can turn on the people without and worry.

It doesn't change everything, but it's pretty stupid to go on about gun safety while not performing gun safety at the same time.

What's the third rule? I gotta say, if you can't farking count to three, you probably shouldn't own a gun.

The guy in the ad is sitting there with his finger on the trigger with the firearm pointed to his right instead of at the ground. There are children playing in the background.

"To make an ad demonstrating actual gun responsibility, the man would put a straight forefinger above the trigger guard to make sure he doesn't accidentally touch the trigger."

Oh, for fark's sake, this is why gun nerds are losing out on this discussion. This is like the whole rallying around bayonets thing during the election; fine, yes, the military uses bayonets. The fact that you're focusing on a pointy-headed point so you can be technically correct instead of the substantive argument being made hurts you more than the original thing. Similarly, when an ad is presenting, "a reasonable gun owner supports reasonable gun control" and you jump to HE'S HOLDING TEH GUN WRONG instead of working on why what the ad purports is reasonable isn't, you're just creating the perception that you've got your head wedged firmly up your ass and shouldn't be listened to.

Yes every conflict the US has been involved in over the last 50 years is proof.

Farmers and goat herders have decimated the US military to the point where people at home were screaming about bringing them home.

Graeth, you might want to consider dialing down the crazy.  There's legitimate arguments that can be EASILY made against a lot of the proposed gun control laws, especially any made by Bloomberg.

Going straight to "the Government is gonna kill all of us if we lose a single gun" severely undermines your position.  Those sorts of claims HELP the "gun grabbers" by making it easy for "the liberals" to "paint" all pro-gun "people" as "crazy assed idiots."

You know, why do so many of the major gun control advocates do so little to educate themselves on guns?  Right now, the political climate is right to pass gun control measures, as long as you aren't retarded about it.  The majority of the US is in favor of stricter gun control.

So why can't they get their act together and make a reasonable move?  Why this incompetent bullshiat?

Here is the deal:  If you are purporting to be concerned about gun safety, then you need to follow the well-established and well-known gun safety rules.  They are pretty simple, after all.  Even my 9 year old son knows to keep his booger hook off the bang switch.
