I had wood shingles on my fire tower once. Topical ointment eventually cleared that up...

Just make sure to let the insurance company know that you are doing everything in your power to insure your house goes up in flames the next time there's a wild fire anywhere nearby.  Perhaps a reflecting pool filled with diesel in the back yard as well....

Wait a minute, the whole tower is made of fugging wood.  Okay so the roof won't burn but the rest of the tower will be in ashes.  Actually, the only thing that won't burn is the shingles, in which case can be used to shingle another wooden fire tower.

Did you ever try to light a container of diesel fuel on fire? It ain't easy. Napalm would be a much better choice for a reflecting pool.

I submitted this later with a better headline (imho). Hope it doesn't go green. I'll be ridiculed and shamed.

Perhaps they could use shingles made from petroleum products and paper?
