Thought it said Billy Ray Cyrus (as most will probably post).

Oddly, "a homeless man of character" still applied...

That's really cool. Hopefully, the problems that put him on the street won't keep him from using this well.

why was her ring in her change purse and not on her finger? What was she really up to that day????

I saw this on the news over the weekend (Good Morning America?).  Of course his "long lost" family members are now on hand and are moving in for the kill -- Yes, they are *SO* happy to be reunited with him (and his new-found wealth)  It was sickening.

I would recommend setting him up a trust fund that allots monthly payments.

Just saying.

Beggars are a pox on society.  So are diamond rings.

Exactly what I thought when I read TFA

He's handling this a lot better than the guy whose dog was rescued from euthanization at the last moment by a kind-hearted woman.

Sadly, such cash windfalls are often a curse to the homeless, they become a target.  Hopefully someone will set up a trust pro bono .

Q: When did bums cease being bums and become homeless?

A: When someone gave them $185 grand.

If I were a homeless person and came upon a rich white person I think I'd steal something from them then return it saying they lost it so I could get a quick payday

How do I get one of these?  I saved the lives of two of my nieces who were floating in my mother's pool unbeknownst to anyone.  I also put out a fire at a crowded bar caused by some drunk knucklehead filling a zippo and lighting himself and the drapes on fire.  Were's my anonymous donations!

Yet I work my ass off to try to help get donations for a 100% charity, donation run, volunteer run, no kill animal shelter and to even get $1,000 is a PITA.

This shelter if you care:

You probably would have gotten some donations had you been a famous singer like the guy in TFA.

I'll donate a few hundred bucks if you'll throw a small get together where we can euthanize a couple of strays over drinks.
