WhoopAssWayne: Office Ninja: He apparently has no problem with owning the very type of firearm (a handgun) that was used in nearly killing his wife but has a hard on for banning "assault" rifles which are overwhelmingly less responsible for annual deaths than handguns.

Yep, and then there's this:

When it was politically expedient during an election, she was more than happy to associate herself with "assault" rifles.

Getting shot in the head and surviving may cause personal reflection and deep introspection on previously held beliefs.  Some call it "learning from past mistakes", others call it an "epiphany".

She was at a SWAT training facility. The photo conveniently crops the cop out. She's not advocating that citizens should have theses. Your argument is invalid

So some random nut turns his corrupt DC politician wife into a drooling retard, and now this douche wants to strip gun rights from ALL of us? Because something bad happens to him, some freakishly random event, all of us should pay by giving up some basic, hard won rights. Man, what a scumbag piece of sh*t.

Why does anyone NEED an assault rifle pit bull??
Assault rifles Pit bulls were created for one purpose, to attack and kill.
Assault rifles Pit bulls are responsible for hundreds of deaths and injuries each year.
If you need home defense, why not just get a shotgun Collie?
We need background checks and registration for all assault weapon pit bull purchases.

Come one, man. Get control of your farking dog. Not to sound like a tree-hugger, but the seal has a right to be there, too. When some authority tries to ban dogs on the beach it will be because of clowns like this. That damned dog didn't break any leash. He never was on one.

Archimedes' Principal: I assume the dog wasn't on a leash when it attacked? WTF !!!

With this video as proof, there should be charges brought on the owner of the dog.

Just wait, it will all get swept under the rug since Mom was a Congressperson and Daddy's an astronaut.

A. The dog was on a leash and apparently either broke it or pulled free of whoever was holding it.
B. The dog attacked a wild animal that happened to be on a beach. It's no different than your dog killing a squirrel or your cat killing a mouse - it just happens to have been a cuddlier animal.

Because you dont need a 65 pound dog as a pet. Thats just too much dog. We need a 7 round limit on dogs....I mean 7 POUND limit.

theurge14: HAMMERTOE: On November 22, 1963, the President was shot in the head in Dallas, TX. Did the country go on a rabid liberal witch-hunt of rifles? No.

Why not?

When a president is shot (which has happened before), you have a political problem.

When you have a short period of time that is full of an increasing number of gun massacres which culminates in over 20 schoolkids wiped out in one setting, you have a guns in society problem.

tylerdurden217: Why do law abiding citizens (or anyone really) need firepower that matches the police?

Because police aren't supposed to have fundamental rights different from those of citizens? Because their authority derives from the rights of citizens? No matter how much they object, they are only a civil force; they are neither military or paramilitary (gendarmy).

The question is: why do the police need firepower that matches the citizenry? Aren't they the good guys?

She's clearly enjoying her privilege of being able to shoot that rifle.  Why should I, as a "mere citizen", not have the same right?
Oh, wait, I do. Yep, I have that exact same rifle, except that it's not a machine gun like that one likely is (which is why that is an assault weapon and mine isn't).
And yes, she is clearly enjoying the benefits of being seen as enjoying that rifle. Considering her state of AZ, that photo probably helped her to get a good number of votes.

Can you make a ptbull with a 3D printer?

the call them "puppy mills" and yes there have been suits against breeders arguing that either they improperly trained the dog before selling it, or that they so inbred their lines that the dogs produced were too agressive

seals in newport beach. hte babies had just been "whelped" (fancy nautical marine biologist term i use) a few days earlier, according to the boat tour dudes. the second one, they stick their flippers in the air to help regulate their temperature while waiting to jump onto the red buot.

we also saw dolphins. few weeks earlier, the boat tour guys said they saw a pod of orcas hunting and one time, a shark snapped up a seal.
