Probably somewhere around something awesome and not this.

Certainly better than the Hendrix cover, but just... man, it just offers nothing the original didn't have and leaves a lot to be desired

Sorry, but in all honesty, that sounded AWFUL.

If you were that big of a Stevie fan, you'd know he was covering someone else's song.

You derps. I'm talking about her version of Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) from yesterday. Not the song

It was awful.  Some of her other stuff is fantastic, but that song did not translate well.

Little Wing?  Was the the performers name?

Seriously I kind of liked it.

That was fantastic! Thanks subby. I was living in London all through Hendrix's rise and, unfortunately, demise. I still remember the newspaper headline as clear as if from yesterday the day he died. Not to be overshadowed by all the great times listening to his music tho.

I once learned that version note for note... well except there was a couple spots where I was never able to keep up with him. Anyway, it's pretty burned into my head, and although I agree wholeheartedly this is not the proper instrument to play this on, I give her full points for effort, it's an extremely accurate rendition within the limits of what she's playing and she came up with some (I'm sure) very non-standard techniques on that instrument to simulate the plethora of guitar techniques used in that song.

This is the Stevie Ray Vaughan version she's covering, not the Hendrix one.

Zeb Hesselgresser: the hat, what's with the hat

That's no hat, it's part of her headphones which I can only assume are noise cancelling so she can't hear the whole world laughing.

That's what I'm saying, that ain't no kind of hat, ain't no kind of noise cancelling telephone either.  I think it's her noodle bowl . . . she just finished lunch.

vossiewulf: This is the studio SRV version, compare to hers.

It's not to be compared. He has his style and weapon of choice. She has hers.

I think it's kinda cool and different.

Yep -- and IMO (and only in my OPINION) SRV studio version linke above is  a bit tired and lifeless.

It certainly is to be compared when she's doing her best to do a note for note cover of the SRV studio version. That was the comparison I was pointing out, not comparing quality, which is subjective. As I said, I think she did great considering the limitations of her instrument.
