(Vimeo)   You could get a good view of Niagara Falls by going over it in a barrel, but wouldn't you rather take the drone's images instead?   (vimeo.com) divider line 26

Pictures of Niagara Falls are a dime a dozen. What you want are pictures of Niagara Cliff:

Hah. Niagara-on-the-Lake and the surrounding area are okay for daylight shots, but the city of Niagara Falls is shown exclusively at night.

This is not a coincidence.

Drones are the new camera crane. Replacing even helicopter shots.
I for one, welcome our new camera mounts.

It might surprise you but rivers aren't lakes. You fall in upstream and you get carried away.

Thanks for the lesson in fluid dynamics. But iI was wondering more about how one manages to get stuck standing on the edge of the falls like that.

Waterfalls erode at different rates over the different mineral surfaces and he likely fell in and was swept into a shallow bit and was lucky enough to get his feet under him.

Lucky bastard.

You gotta wonder though, how many fish accidentally every day?

There's a spot at Niagra Falls (Canadian side), where you can walk over to the edge and look straight down where the falls go over.  Pretty cool, if you can stand the vertigo.

My wife and I have been to Niagra on the Lake a lot, I like that lil town.  Bike to the end of their bike path and work our way back hitting the wineries.

I could have watched a lot more footage of the drone at the falls.  That was amazing.

On similar lines, I found myself thinking about how nicely they can showcase the Canadian side but not so on the American side of Niagara Falls.  My brother lives there... it is not welcoming to the eye.

I love visiting the falls, though!

He had his feet wedged in between the rocks, when he fell and almost went over that's what he grabbed onto as well. Basically he was one lucky bastard.

I've only passed through the American side but Niagara Falls Ontario isn't exactly a looker either. However, biking the Niagara Parkway to Niagara-on-the-Lake is probably my favourite thing to do there, and it doesn't even involve gambling or alcohol*.

* - if you like wine, it probably  does include alcohol

Mrs. Muta and I have  gotten trashed doing that.  She calls it the Pedal and Puke Tour.

I've thought about going into this business. Done a fair amount of work in commercial videography--just not sure if there's enough call for this kind of thing in my neck of the woods to make the $ and time investment worth it.

On the American side (haven't been to the Canadian side ever) if you walk down to the view area next to the Horseshoe Falls there is literally only a 4ft high railing separating you from just walking into the walls.

The city of Niagara is a shiathole but the actual Niagara Park is a beautiful place and one of the coolest places to view the falls and walk the river. The Three Sisters Island area is awesome and mind numbingly scary at the same time.

The Falls themselves are impressive but the rapids preceeding it are the real show stopper.

They did a great job on the Niagara region until they went to the main strip at Niagara Falls. It is a shiathole. The attractions are tired, the buildings broken down, and the city is a dump. Niagara park, and the wine region are great. Even the area on the US side is nice, but then you have Buffalo. Well, that makes the city of Niagara Falls look better I guess.

Live near waterfalls in Hamilton, and one is almost as high as NF. No one knows about them except locals. Maybe thats a good thing.
