This is how you know he's a Democrat. The sex affairs involve a woman.

So what exactly is the problem here?

He put it in writing? Never put things in writing.

Assemblyman Joe Cryan, of Union, graphically spelled out his kinky proclivities in more than 150 e-mails that he sent to a lobbyist - and then fought to keep them hidden after he stunned the state political world by having her busted for stalking in 2006.

After her arrest, Karen Golding said that they were intimately involved - and that she had the e-mails to prove it. Cryan has denied the relationship.

OK I don't give a crap what they did in private, but this is weapons grade stupid right here.

Not sure.

I don't care about anyone's sex life as long as long as the partner(s) were able to give consent.

Why are Republicans afraid of a strong, punitive woman?

yeah, i can't exactly say I hate it. Where mommy porn books like the Fifty Shades series sell in Barnes and Nobles across the country, why in the world would this be so bad?

If he hadn't been actually accused of and convicted of a crime, then it's none of our business.

Yea, It's a scandal only in the sense that liking BDSM is a scandal. But still, that is probably enough to harm any political aspirations considering the sexually repressed society we live in.

The scandal is that he had her arrested for stalking him and lied about having ever been in a relationship with her.

But let's agreed on this point: none of our business- especially that 14 hour exchange occurring on company time (the tax payer's dime).

Eh, it seems like he was on government time, so maybe scandal?

This is why you don't do these sorts if exchanges over email if you have political aspirations. Or are already a politician.

he had her arrested for stalking to which she pleaded guilty. There is no indication he lied in court about their relationship and implicitly even acknowledged it by fighting the release of these emails.

Though I suppose having an intimate relationship with a lobbyist can be a scandal.

(Shrug) I don't care. Although if I had to choose I would rather have a sub representing me in government than a Dom.  We get pounded and degraded enough in regular government without them getting off on it.

Only if they run on am anti-gay platform, then get caught with 3 dudes at a truck stop.

Doms probably would make better leaders simply because they  actually spend time leading. They spend a good amount of time fantasizing about taking care of another person, and develop the ability to care in non-sexual situations.

But if I had to choose, I'd prefer someone who isn't defining themselves by their sexuality so they can pay attention to what they're doing in office.

/No, 'ZOMG YOU HATE GAYS!!!' doesn't count, 'gay' is, by this point, a social construct, not a sexual one.

Three dudes at a truckstop isn't exactly the same as a 14 hour exchange from your place of employment- especially when the taxpayer is paying you to do something more... political in nature.   if he was carrying on the conversation in his off hours, not really any of our business- sort of like getting shagged by three guys at a truck stop unless it could be proven that said incident occurred during business hours.

No laws against being a hypocrit yet- fraud and abuse of position? Maybe.

With the case still playing out in court, the secret correspondence - racy enough to make any "Fifty Shades of Grey'' fan blush - landed on the driveway of a Post reporter.

It can't have been very racy. Or very blush-worthy. I'm guessing the BDSM levels probably wouldn't shock the average Bugs Bunny viewer in terms of "scandalousness". "Now get on your knees and say you're my biatch!" SMACK! "Oh yes mommy yes yes yes!" SMACK!

Scandalous.

2013-03-25 07:24:06 PM
Meh.  I don't care about personal issues -- except where they have an effect on governance.  Being on the state dime while getting one's freak on is wrong -- as would be allowing influence from sex partners, or lying under oath.  Any of those should be dealt with, otherwise, back the fark off.

2013-03-25 07:24:50 PM
People who engage in BDSM are often worshipers of Satan, and are known to be liars, thieves, rapists and child molesters. So it makes perfect sense that some libtard dumbocrat would be caught in such a scandal.

As anyone can admit, no God-Fearing, Wholesome Christian Republican man has ever been caught in such a scandal.

clowncar on fire: a 14 hour exchange from your place of employment

"spanned 14 hours on June 28, 2004"

He worked a 14 hour day and the whole thing was back and forth racy email?

Or was it he worked a 14 hour day and during the course of it he kept a conversation going all day?

Or was it 14 hours of mails, one back-and-forth every time he took a break?

Or was it just that the first one and last one were 14 hours apart?

You can do most of that stuff without actually affecting your work at all.

Unless he was sitting there drooling at the keyboard not doing anything BUT typing to her to the extent that he neglected his duties, I still don't see the outrage.

Note the part in TFA where the guy is pulling two political paychecks. Which is pretty much par for the course in Jersey. At some point he's neglecting one gig or the other even without all the spanky-talk.

Fark all those double-dipping Jersey vermin.

I'm interested in the stalking angle. Seems like an odd thing for a woman who wants to be dominated.

/I know. It's not really any business of mine, but come on. He was the dom, and she was the stalker?

You laugh now, but a few decades from now I can guarantee you some Republican will unironically cite the GOP's history of gay sex scandals as proof that the Democrats are the real bigots.

2013-03-25 07:49:38 PM
I thought the funny part was that 1) he accuses her / has her arrested for stalking, completely forgetting that 2) he's in politics, and she has an email trail.

Never leave an email trail.

As typical for such cases, when a Democrat gets busted in a scandal, it's usually him being a retard.

It's usually a 'facepalm' moment.

If the GOP had such good luck with their scandals, maybe they wouldn't be seen as such a horrifying party.

It appears this guy was/is single at the time of the e-mails, so even though he was using a govt. email account for some of the emails, I really do not have a problem with this...

That being said, his is going about this all wrong.  He needs to Charlie Sheen this shiat and take ownership of what he did/does-nothing wrong with asking for what you want.
