BigNumber12: Sooo, that article, including the camel toe discussion, is totally news-worthy?

It is when they're the remarks of a city official paid by the taxpayers who's in a position of power over others, yes.

Sounds good. Will you be spearheading the effort to fire and publicly shame all public servants who are attracted to "camel toe?"

Nah, the ones who are stupid enough to tweet out their feelings on the subject will probably be found out without my direct intervention.

No - I'm grateful every single day for people who are stupid enough to tweet / status their crimes.

My whole point in commenting on this article is that the usual "Daily Fail is full of shiat" lynch mob is strangely silent on this particular article. Some informal version of chilling effects, I guess - nobody would dare question someone who's calling someone else a "Nazi." Guilt by association, you know.

Oh please, this guy's union dues are fully paid up.

That does not necessarily mean much. Look at Wisconsin. A whole of Union people, for some damn dumb reason, voted for Scooter and his band of morons.

Yes, it's unfathomable why the 99% of taxpayers who aren't government union workers would vote for a guy seeking to roll back the power of the tax-draining government union workers. I just can't figure out why that would be.

At least my buddy's dad may have come across it less expebnsively. He grew up in England as a kid, had a couple of bayonets he'd dug up out of a field, as well as a rather rusty(but completely functional) Browning M1917 machine gun. There's no chance that he dug up the Luger, but he may still have gotten a deal on it way back when...

About time we get the haters out of public jobs.

If you hold a public position, be prepared to have your life examined!

It's obvious that New York has a problem respecting minorities;

FTA:
'He is not an isolated case,' retired veteran of the city EMS said of Dluhos. 'He's a symptom of a sick system. If you work in the city for police, fire or EMS and tell me you're surprised by this, you're a liar.'

Because freedom of speech only means he can't be jailed for being an idiot. It doesn't mean he can't be publicly shamed for being an idiot, and it certainly doesn't mean he can't be fired for violating conduct codes.

But you already know that.

I know the Fail sucks.  It's mostly "OMG!  Look at __________ in her workout clothes with no makeup!!" or the daily teacher-sleeping-with-student or "First pictures of Kim Kardashians baby bump!" or some girl who eats nothing but chicken mcnuggets, etc.

I am not aware of them accusing someone of racism or any other -ism or serious character assassination of an unknown person with no evidence to back them up.  So, again, do you have an example that goes beyond the typical tabloid-type garbage?

I'm an Athiest, but technically I'm Jewish. Actually going to  my dad's for Passover tonight.

Anyway, when I was younger, I was so interested in reading about Nazis, that I bought the following Nazi magazine from the early 40s on Ebay. It was written by Dr Robert Ley (who cheated his death sentence by hanging himself by tying something to the base of his sink and leaning forward a nd manually strangling himself).

Here is what the magazine looked like.

Anyway, what made me feel really guilty, was that stuck inside the pages of the magazine I bought, was an envelope from Auschwitz, possibly the last letter ever sent by some poor soul.

On the outside of the envelope was written the following propoganda, by the Camp Kommandant: This is what it said  in German:

Concentration Camp Auschwitz
Mailing with camp prisoners is subjected to the following prescriptions:
  1. Every protective-custody-captive is allowed to send or to receive two letters or postcards from his relatives. Letters sent to prisoners must be written clearly and with ink, and must have a maximum of 15 lines per page. Only one piece of normal sized notepaper is permitted. Lined envelopes are not allowed. Including more than five 12 Pfg-stamps in the envelope is not allowed. Including everything else is forbidden will be seized. Postcards have 10 lines. It is not allowed to use photographs as postcards.
  2. It is permitted to send money to the prisoners.
  3. All consignments must carry the correct address, which means name, date of birth and number of the prisoner. If the address is not correct, the mail will either be returned to sender or destroyed.
  4. Newspapers are permitted, but can be ordered only via the postal service of the Concentration Camp Auschwitz.
  5. The sending of parcels is not allowed, because the prisoners can buy everything in the camp.
  6. Sending release from protective-custody requests to the camp board is useless.
  7. It is principally not permitted to talk with prisoners or visit them in the concentration camp.
