No. Not wrong at all. I love tall blondes, and she looks a lot different out of character.

Tyrion Lannister is a very bad little man. If I had to pick one character in GoT that was my favorite; I'd pick Tyrion. He's the one character that; I think; is most honest about who and what he is.

HA!!
Just started re-watching it on Hulu this weekend.
For a 30 year-old show, it holds up well and is still a great "watch".

It's on Hulu?!  I think, I think I love you for telling me that, I've hunted it for years to see if was as god as my teen-aged self insisted on telling me it was.

When it first aired, I used to go to cons with a guy who was a dead ringer for Jason Connery (and had made himself an exact replica of Connery's  Robin costume) he was a HUGE hit with the ladies of fandom.

/ which gave us, his friends, we figured, roughly the same benefits that a remora gets for hanging out with sharks,  but he never seemed to keep any of his "catch" for himself
//when he I ran into him as an artist GOH at a Worldcon a decade later and he "came out" to me, a whole lot of things from back then made MUCH more sense.

It's the same. They changed Asha (Theon's sister) to Yara b/c they were afraid people would get the two mixed up.

The fx and fights are dated but the gritty approach and great story overcome all of that.

I 'd say that Tywin; while being straightforward about who and what he is; isn't as compelling as Tyrion. Tyrion, literally, got the short end of the stick; yet, as the story progresses, he hasn't become needlessly cruel or vicious. Not to say that he does not do whatever is required to win; there's a nobility to Tyrion's character that Tywin, Cersi, Jamie and all the rest of the Lannisters lack.

/ but, that's my opinion

You're right. The books are completely unrelated in any way, shape or form to the television series, and should never be discussed at all in any context in stories concerning it. If any of the Lannisters could be considered king material it would be Tyrion.
Tywin, Cersi and Joffrey believe in rule by fear.
Jamie at the moment in the show is too quick to have faith in his own arm. He's not all that political.

Tyrion seems to understand how to balance the perks of being royalty with the responsibility inherent to the position.

I think you're a bit harsh on Tywin. Tywin clearly recognizes the value of fear, but he did a great job of ruling the Kingdoms when he was Aerys' hand. I think the line was "the smallfolk cheered twice as hard for Tywin as the king" or something to that effect.

Later on I think Jamie would make a passable king, but I think he'd have a lot of use for a strong...Hand

Well, she looks naturally skinny and is about five-foot nuthin', so barring a really huge growth spurt she'll be able to pull off playing much younger than she is.
