Heavy weaponry = two shotguns, a flare gun, and an indeterminate amount of some powder that may or may not be explosives.

Several friends of Morgan's remember how Susyn was well known at Dalton for refusing to let her children take responsibility or blame for anything. Morgan didn't openly defy her parents or teachers, but "she rebelled against the whole Dalton ethos of money," says one friend. "At that age, you fancy yourself as a sort of Holden Caulfield type. It was sort of her version of that."

Everyone loves reading about spoiled rich kids and their wrecked lives by choice.

Especially in wonderful resources online like The New Yorker. Why don't I go out and buy a copy.

I don't think the Times would have a word for the amount of guns Ted Nugent has.

/ That guy has a fark-ton of guns.

Fark-tons are measurements of snark, not guns.

It's NYC. Anything more than zero unless you are a bodyguard for a rich person or a cop is a lot of heavy weaponry.

/wouldn't mind a m203 style flare launcher, don't even need a stamp for those.

They'd curl up in a corner and wet their pants while crying softly until some brave person could come rescue them.

Gliedman, meanwhile, was a Dalton and NYU graduate-the rent for the 9th Street apartment was paid by her father and mother

In all fairness, for most on fark, having a single gun more than they deem you "need" is a fark ton of guns.

Heavy weaponry my ass.  I thought I was going to read about M-60's and LAW rocket launchers ffs.  I've got a Mossberg 12ga and an M-14 so I have an arsenal of heavy weaponry too? Cooooool.

"Tale of the Enablers who never let their spawn grow up"

What a farking waste.  As has been said "sometimes you just have to cut a man loose".  In this case both of them

In Greene's view, he and Gliedman weren't terrorists-they were more like Sid and Nancy or Kurt and Courtney

Funny, the headline made me think of Marky and Sharon.

HMTD is pretty easy to make... but its really really sensitive. See, its main use is as a detonator for a larger quantity of some other explosive. Like say RDX, or ANFO.

You don't make HMTD, of all detonating substances, and not intend to do *something* with it.

"acting on a tip"

How reliable and constitutional can that really be?  Can't one of the cops just call the tip line and make any damn tip they want to give the cops probable cause to go search anything they want to?

My guess is that you have a Mini-14 or an M1A, not an M-14, correct?

Unless you have a class 3 and a tax stamp for the '14, that is.

Well, it depends on how you feel about drug abuse. Are people who use drugs idiots who have made bad choices to you or are they sick people who we should pity?

It was a huge conspiracy involving snarky Fark posters, the NYPD, the New Yorker, and a variety of heroin dealers and arms suppliers.

It was a lot of hard work, but I really enjoyed our Project Progress Meetings at the local IHOP... especially during the All You Can Eat Pancake promotions.

I believe the sap. He's a hobbyist and someone freaked out. That's what happens when you push an edgy image and hang out with drug dealers. People believe the image is real.
Hell, that's 75% of rap marketing.

Eh, I did until I got to the "Kill them all" part on his letters. It's one thing to be "a hobbyist" or attention whore but when you're unable to see the stupidity of decorating your letters with threats like a 9th grade neo-nazi, you might be out of touch with reality.

Huh.  I usually read.

FTFA: One newspaper report noted that Greene had told Gliedman's parents that his grandfather was a member of the Nazi Party under Hitler.

A MEMBER of the Nazi party while Hitler was Dictator in Germany? Wow, that must have been extremely rare and extreme back then in Germany. What a Außenseiter.

Not even a semi-auto in the bunch. Nice call on the Moss 500, I keep a 590 model at the head of my bed. Its based off the 500, but shorter barrel and extended mag (9 2 /34 inch or 8 3 inch) with no duck plug, fixed choke.

Hmm... I read the first page.  Is there a point to any of this?  If there was one, the author sure was taking the long tedious way to get there.

Ok so the parents of the girl enabled her to live this life style. NYC is expensive and so is heroin. The guy is a jackass. He was probably looking to blow up Wall Street some how-eventually-but got to high to do it. So honestly what happened after page 2 because I wanted to spork my eyeballs out after page one.
