This season, in particular, has been really good and engaging for me. I love that Jacob Pitts (Gutterson) is getting more screen time.

I agree with these posts.

Also Art's speech about Drew Thompson was AWESOME.

I say this every chance I get: "Justified" has the best dialogue on television.

Deamos: Also Art's speech about Drew Thompson was AWESOME.

Agreed. His rant about Raylan, when Raylan "obtained" that guy who knew Drew Thompson from prison was a thing of beauty.

MightyPez: I love that Jacob Pitts (Gutterson) is getting more screen time.

I almost want to believe that they purposely withhold Gutterson from us, just to make him that much more fascinating. Last week, when he was given a prominent part in the episode, was wonderful. "Well, the good news is, I'm not having a flashback..."

I was gonna say I remember him as playing the lunatic in charge of security on the lame show Seven Days

Seriously. I'm also curious to see if at some point there ends up being a showdown of sorts between Gutterson and Colt; it seems like it may be building that way.

Best justified line from last week.

"People under estimate Bob at their peril" === Raylan Givens

Good season with a different slant than the previous ones , i.e. not having one overarching 'villain'.

Looking forward to next weeks. Think it's the last for this season , alas.

That was a great line.

The show just keeps getting better, and last weeks episode had a lot of great dialog not sure if I can pic out just one piece as the best line.

It's very refreshing that the supporting cast's characters are every bit as competent and badass as Raylan, and in some cases more so.

Mrs. midigod and I actually ran the DVR back and re-watched the whole scene about the car bomb trap, and Colt's conversation about it, trying to goad the team into believing he didn't have explosives in the car.

And agreed about Raylan's line about Bob - that was really cool of him to say, and it was well-deserved.  Seeing Bob get the shiat kicked out of him was very distrurbing to watch.

I think maybe that episode was in the top three of the entire show.

As much love as I have for Justified, watching it always reminds me how sad it was when Deadwood was cancelled.

Raylan may be the angriest man Winona ever met, but then she never met Seth Bullock.

Patton Oswalt is knocking that small roll out of the farkin park!

2013-03-25 01:06:40 PM
Patton Oswalt is playing a surprisingly believable comic part in this violent world. I even considered it funny, perhaps for the first time, to watch grown men fire automatic weapons at each other. Seriously there is not a bad actor in this entire production... which means that its director is doing a phenomenal job.

I love this show. I generally loathe shows that revolve around any kind of law enforcement, but this one stands out. Good acting, good dialogue, engaging story lines that have bad guys that are more than one dimensional cliches, and Olyphant is pretty great as a modern day Clint Eastwood.

"Man, I love the way you talk. You use up forty words where four will do."

The only thing more hilarious than Raylan giving his hat to a statie to wear in the convoy was the fact that it didn't work. Excellent end run by the writing staff.

2013-03-25 01:25:45 PM
That speech about why Drew Thompson is a bad ass is an example of why I love this show so much.

Also when Johnny lifted his  shirt to show Rayland his scars and whine about the authorities ruining his life, Raylan's bit about how that shiat is just something that happens in life when you choose to be a small-time asshole.  Farking classic.

The entire first episode I referred to him as "Shane", but he is now forever Boyd Crowder, who blew up the church with a bazooka in my dad's hometown (Somerset). I was born in Louisville, so pops and I are big Justified fans.

Michael Chiklis will always and forever be Vic Mackey; he could play the most pivotal, critically acclaimed role in the greatest movie of all time, and he'll still be an angry, angry man with a penchant for violence and a bad ass .45.

With that said, Tim is my favorite and Art reminds me of my primary FTO. Tuesdays at 9pm CST are a black hole for my fiance and I. We cease all outside communications.

Anyone else glad Bob didn't get his fool self killed last week?!

Colt is played by Ron Eldard. He's been around for a while, and in some good stuff. He pulled over Al Pacino's Ferarri in Scent of a Woman, shot Kevin Bacon in Sleepers, and banged the shiat out of Juliana Marguelles on ER.

I'm just catching up on Justified.

Started Season 2 recently. Great show, great dialogue.

One of my favorites, when Raylan is getting off the elevator with his ex-wife and bumps into her current husband:

CH (being all buddy-buddy to Raylan): We should get together sometime and have a drink.
Raylan (looking earnest but perplexed): Why? Why would we do that?

Walton Goggins have played some pretty diverse roles...Agree that Boyd had eclipsed Shane.  But you might want to check out his performance as Venus Van Dam on Sons of Anarchy.

This is turning out to be the best season yet, I wonder how much longer the writers can keep this pace up....

Oh, no worries there. I immediately classified it as the greatest cameo in the history of television. And yeah, my point was that Shane Vendrell was a great and memorable role, but Boyd Crowder has eclipsed it, as you said.

I'm pretty sure that between seasons 1-3, it is practically universally agreed upon that Season 2 of Justified is the best. Season 4 has earned at least second place, IMHO, and if it continues as it has, will be tied for first.

I'm surprised, considering the setting, they haven't tried to work in the "Here's a fun fact, you MADE OUT WITH YOUR SISTER!!!" line at some point!
