Nobody steals our jobs...and lives.

Dr Dreidel: Well, without the fear of deportation, he found 2 - TWO! - jobs (which means more tax revenue for Uncle Samchez) and bought a car (sales tax, plus licensure and registration), and now he has no time to play video games.

Reading (TFA) is fun(damental)!

My maths say a primary and seconadary education in the cheese state is around $5,000 per year, so 12 years x $5000 = $60,000.  I wonder if his family paid that much in taxes?  If they did, he can stay.

TFA: "At some point in the consultation, I learned that he played video games and, although I'm 41, that's an interest of mine," said Odrcic.

It's amusing how even gamers are still conditioned by society to believe that video games are really only for kids and young people.

There's always some kind of slightly embarrassed disclaimer.  "Yeah, I'm a mature, middle-aged adult, but I like video games anyway."

Adults are still reluctant to just say "I like video games," in the same way they might say "I like movies" or "I like this TV show."

My maths say who cares?

// that's not how taxes work
// my folks paid for 3 of us to go to private schools, in addition to paying taxes, so I say he can use our earned credit to stay

Since undocumented workers do not file tax returns to get their moneys back as that will lead to the whole "fake SS#/Green card" (if any) outing of said worker, they just may have paid for his edumacation, and then some. One of the first steps to legal residency for such types (after the hiring of the lawyer) is to file a tax return, which I assume is terrifying.

My gf is much older than me(I'm 30) and considers me very childish for playing videogames and watching cartoons/anime.  I've mentioned to her things like the average age of a gamer is 30 and that there are many cartoons/anime are targeted towards my age and cultural demographic, but it's like talking to a wall when you're talking to someone that sees it as something for children.

In order for him to be a citizen he will have to learn a whole lot more about the USofA than any of its native born citizens commonly do.

Once he graduated instead of being bummed about not being able to go to college legally couldn't he have just applied for citizenship once he turned 18? He sounds smart, he'd probably do better on the test then most of the right-wing nut jobs who would want to see him deported even though he wasn't in the US under his own accord.

I know. I've been in awe of her since I was a little kid. And I just realized that her facial features are exactly why I've crushed so hard on two of my long-term acquaintances who both resemble her. Mind blown. I can't wait to see what they look like at 50.

Well using your analogy and the stunning logic displayed by some people in this thread it would be BETTER to take the money away, make a nice little pile and then set it on fire.

The kid's education has already been paid for - it's actually in our best interest to keep him working here and paying taxes.

If your husband robs a pension fund blind and dies in between trial (where he's found guilty) and sentencing, you get to keep all the stuff he stole, so...maybe?

No. If the Feds can prove the money you have was the money your parents stole you lose the money and probably anything they can prove your parents bought with said money post robbery. What we don't do is punish the kid in jail for the crimes of the parents.

If I neglect to pay taxes most of my life, should I get a free pass? Was he filing his federal income taxes, and paying in? You know how many billions of untaxed dollars are sent back home from these people?

If nothing else, I would expect some sanity about the tax evasion of illegals. People sure want to nail Americans who cheat on taxes.

Actually most illegal immigrants put more tax revenue into the system than legal residents because taxes are taken out of their paychecks if they have an above-board job and they never get the refunds for fear of being detected. As to sending money back to Mexico, they earned it shouldn't they be the ones to decide when and where to spend it? Or is that only for us white folks?

An illegal can file taxes, illegal immigrants are given an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).This year year millions of illegal immigrants will once again rake in billions of dollars  Did you know that illegal immigrants all over the United States are using a massive scam to receive tax refunds from the federal government that are often in excess of $10,000? It is estimated that 2 million illegal immigrants are filing fraudulent tax returns each year and that they are pulling in more than 4 billion dollars in tax refunds every year that they are not entitled to. Yeah, no, how about you actually read something about the subject.  http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/money/perfi/taxes/2008-04-10-immigrant s taxes_N.htm
"Illegal immigrants are paying taxes to Uncle Sam, experts agree. Just how much they pay is hard to determine because the federal government doesn't fully tally it. But the latest figures available indicate it will amount to billions of dollars in federal income, Social Security and Medicare taxes this year. One rough estimate puts the amount of Social Security taxes alone at around $9 billion per year."
and
"The impact on Social Security is significant, though, because most of that money is never claimed by the people who pay it but instead helps cover retirement checks to legal workers. "

Or if you'd prefer some other source:

http://www.thefiscaltimes.com/Articles/2012/04/11/How-Illegals-Pay-B il lions-in-Taxes-and-Reap-Rewards.aspx#page1
Undocumented immigrants also pay federal, state, and local sales and excise taxes on food, clothing, gasoline, cigarettes and alcohol as well as state and local property taxes

"Undocumented immigrant families, therefore, pay a higher percentage of their income in consumption taxes than U.S. citizens whose income tends to be higher."

Rincewind53: "The impact on Social Security is significant, though, because most of that money is never claimed by the people who pay it but instead helps cover retirement checks to legal workers. "

Indeed.

I once read a study on how much worse off the Social Security system would be if not for undocumented immigrants.

They usually have the payroll taxes taken out of their pay like everyone else, but since they are using a fake SSN, they are never able to claim those benefits.  Moreover, the immigrant population tends to be younger and more working-age than the American public at large (indeed, that's why they migrated, to find work), so they have a higher percentage of people paying into the system than the general population.

In effect, since they usually pay taxes, but can't claim refunds or benefits, they are effectively providing a free subsidy to the system.

The IRS want's everyone legal or not to file taxes so they give illegal immigrants an   Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) millions file each year for their tax refund.

I don't know whose derp you just C&P'd, but the ITIN is not given to undocumented aliens. It's given in lieu of a social security number for resident aliens who are here legally under various programs. The only way someone would have one and not be legally able to work in the US is if it was expired or stolen. They must be renewed every two years (IIRC), so I call BS on anyone getting away with that kind of stuff for very long at all.

As far as "it is estimated", pfffft! I say, PFFFFFT! It is estimated that a large portion of anti-immigrant derpage ignores the fact immigrants are also people and the amount fraudulently claiming things on their taxes they are not entitled to is most likely the same as the real 'murkins - also people - who consider tax evasion a type of national sport. People are people and the "hands off my moneys, ebil gubermint!" tax fraudin' people will be that way no matter where they were born.

Most lower class families with a daddy that only thinks his loins are powerful because he has 7 kids will not pay enough in income taxes to pay for the education cost of their children.

Its not very nice to think about Dads killing their kids because they don't want to pay the $10,000 education tax for each one of them --each year.  What we do instead, is spread the pain around.

It doesn't really matter if they are illegals or not, 75% of people aren't paying their fair share.

That a foreign scofflaw whose family never gave a single damn about this country until all the money appeared here from the efforts of MY ancestors is finding a way to game the system and undermine the principles by which we've built this country into the world's greatest force? Hey I know: to express my disdain, I'll take a crap all over your sidewalk and lawn - but wait, you'll have an illegal hispanic landscaper there in an hour, won't you - and that's the whole point, isn't it? To import a new lower class, with lower expectations, so you and your ilk can continue taking advantage of them because the lower-middle class in America got just a bit too smart during the 90's, didn't they, and now you're out of people to oppress. What a perverse way to rape your own country. Screw you pal, you should just move to Mexico if you love them so f*cking much.

Got a detailed economic analysis to back up your assertions? Don't forget, most of them pay local taxes as well, contribute to local business, pay local sales taxes, etc....

Meh. 3/10, too obvious.

Rincewind53: KimNorth: They also cost communities more in tax money for cost on animal control, sewage back up, etc.. as they do not spay or neuter and do not understand to not pour grease down sewage gutters or cooking grease down sinks where the city has to go and pump the lines at the street in these areas.  The cost of education, policing, duel languages, social services on and on so just stop it!

Got a detailed economic analysis to back up your assertions? Don't forget, most of them pay local taxes as well, contribute to local business, pay local sales taxes, etc....

And.... wow, illegal immigrants don't spay or neuter their pets and pour grease down the drains? Umm... painting with a remarkably specific brush there, aren't you?

Why yes, yes I do have facts but I am not going to list them, but I will tell you how to find them. If I did you would know where I live and then you could find out who I am..maybe. Just ask someone who does work for your local city or one in a high illegal populated area. They will tell you the cost incurred if they feel they can be honest with you without getting the old you're racist left wing slap down.

can we please use the correct terminology. It's "illegal alien" NOT "undocumented worker".  Remember, they're here ILLEGALLY!!

Well, that's certainly the kind of paranoid response I'd expect from someone who's worried about illegal immigrants pouring grease down the drains.

Rincewind53: Joe Blowme: Sovereignty, How does it work?

Nice response to facts there, Mr. Troll.

FACT: illegal means illegal... hows that asshat? The fact that he does not know how Sovereignty works negates his "facts"

Yes, because a 1-year-old knew about sovereignty when brought here by his parents.

Thunderpipes: KrispyKritter: KimNorth: Did he not go to school or did he go on a stolen ss#? Did I miss that part?

came here when he was one, parents were on some sort of visa which expired long ago. meanwhile he attended and graduated elementary & high schools.

Think his family paid more in taxes than his schooling cost? Somehow I doubt it. How much money did his family send back to Mexico?

Because it would be so much more cost-effective for the community, the country, and humanity as a whole if he'd been forced to drop out and join a gang instead, along with the 45 years on the public dime eventually needed to house him.
