The man, from the Ostergotland region, was sentenced to four years in prison and was ordered to pay damages of approximately $806,000. His ex-wife was sentenced to three years in prison for her involvement, and the couple's two sons received suspended sentences, TheLocal.se reported.

So they sentence with a shotgun approach in Sweden?

Did they all profit from the fraud?

I believe the correct word is 'bilk' not 'milk'. But I don't speak Swedish.

Probably pimped out the carer and split the money.

"Milk" works too.  "Milk it for all it's worth" is a common idiom in the U. S., as in "suck that government teat dry!"

I've met a few.  Kurdish refugees, to be specific.  A substantial and concentrated wave of refugees to one spot 10 years or so ago, combined with an incredible birth rate on arrival, equals growing subculture.  Kurds:Sweden::Somalis:Minneapolis.

Around these parts of NC you just claim it was a miracle and praise Jesus, and they will give you even more money to thank you for proving their faith. It rather easy to do, as long as you have no morals and ethics.

I figured that was how those 'healing service' guys make their money, they just get their cut for the 'miracle' part.

Although, I am not sure why a wheelchair bound person can't ride a camel since don't they have ways of getting you up there without all the hard climbing.  I know they put handicap kids on elephants all the time.  Also, aren't some pyramids wheelchair accessible since it looks like you could get back down really really fast.

On a serious note: my fil was collecting workman's comp after a fall off a ladder tearing both rotator cuffs, when they tried to bust him for fraud.  He tried doing light handyman work to avoid just sitting around (he had a weight restriction of 25 lbs) and they took photos of him doing a roof and putting up shutters.  He had a teen carry all the roof supplies and the shutters only weighed 8 lbs.  They also took distant pictures of me raking the yard, so it would look like him.  Fraud or not they will follow you and try to prosecute you as long as you are getting checks.

Someones never seen what a Swedish jail looks like.  Hell, I bet he can probably get assistance paying back the ill-gotten assistance when he gets out.

I use a wheelchair (and cannot walk at all) but I ride horses and would totally try to ride a camel if I got the opportunity. Just because someone has a disability does not mean they cannot do anything.

Climbing the pyramids, really? Pics or it didn't happen, 'cause Egypt hasn't allowed that since the 80's I think.
