I'd rather have a missile silo out in one of the rectangular states.

(Just a shot I found of my lunchbox online, BTW...That's not my mustard/pee-stain in the corner.)

Flint Ironstag: The first rule of surviving the apocalypse is that nobody knows that you have a shelter stocked with food and supplies. Since everyone in the area will know about this place, and if you buy it and stock up they'll know about you, you won't last a week before the hordes of survivors who haven't got huge supplies of food, water, medicine etc manage to break in and ransack the place.

That is probably why you had the flame throwers installed.  Hell, you can probably launch an UAV and have live footage.
It will be like a couple of firebats toasting a zergling rush to a crisp.

DigitalCoffee: That thing looks like it would take another $100K, on top of the $500k, just to clean it up and get shiat running again. Probably more than that if there's asbestos in there (which there probably is). Better off saving for a mid-west missile silo instead.

Why the hell would you need asbestos in Florida?

So that you can die from cancer and not have to live in Florida any more.  Obviously.

It's a little small for my needs.

Do you have something bigger, that's not in Florida?

ongbok: NathanAllen: New plan, build a fake shelter full of fake supplies and food. When people try to loot it you kill them, take their supplies and eat them.

Eat the people or their supplies? You gotta to specify because if it is one of those then I'll be like "That's a good plan", but if it is the other I'll be like "Whoa, no no no".

I know, right? Who even knows if their supplies will be edible?

Fort Pierce is only considered South Florida if you divide the state in half. Otherwise, it's not really South Florida.

Notabunny: Why not just use one of your trailers? I heard they were safe.

/trolling

To be frank in responding to a troll attempt:

The main problem is that the trailers are mostly newly manufactured, and the glues and other such compounds used in manufacturing them release formaldehyde. It is unfortunate, but it's a side-effect of how they are made.
