I'm impressed they got a virus to respect geographic boundaries like that.

PhDemented: I remember working at UTMB when that building was coming up... Never thought it was the most genius of ideas to build a BL4 lab in the center of a large hospital complex in a fairly populated area (moreso in the summer).

/Worked on the top floor of the children's hospital there for a while
//The BL4 building was directly across from it
///I'm sure the kids there are sleeping soundly tonight

Why does this sound like a remix of Raccoon City?

OK, I'll bite.  I like BOC, so I get the first part.  OK, Tom Cullen spelled everything "M-O-O-N".  OK, OK.  But what do either of those have to do with TFA?

Seriously?

The Stand starts with a supervirus accidentally being released from a research lab.

That accounts for the moon thing.  Where does Blue Öyster Cult fit in?

And yes, seriously.

You're thinking of just the book. The TV miniseries (as noted with the inclusion of pics of Laura San Giacomo) started with one of the all time greatest opening music sequences in TV film history... Don't Fear the Reaper was played while the TV audience viewed the scenes of the outbreak. Chilly and awesome.

Watched the clip that Hector put up. Hehe. Well, that looks a bit dated, doesn't it. Maybe it's the recording fidelity, but I remember the images being a lot crisper. Perhaps that's the pernicious effect time has on memory. There were a lot of hits AND misses in that mini-series, but I do remember it fondly. Some stellar performances and breakout roles.

Lyrics from the song are also printed on the page prior to Chapter One in the hardback edition of The Complete & Uncut Edition. Alongside the lines "This is the way theworld ends/This is the way theworld ends/This is the way theworld ends/Not with a bang but a whimper." (from T.S. Eliot's The Hollow Men)

I dont' know about the images' crispness, but that version of DFTR is not the album's version.  Different key, different tempo.  I could have sworn they used the album track verbatim.

The version they used was the one on the Career of Evil compilation because it has the guitar solo. Probably the album version vs radio cut
