veryequiped: Awesome Ep, shame about Daryl though

Now Daryl will be drunk with bloodlust, should make for an interesting fight with the Gov's posse

5. Fast And Loose
Two o' clock in the morning baby,
I know it's late, I know it's late,
I'm dark and I like the night,
And I can make you feel alright,
I've been around for quite a while,
And I've learned to make you smile,
I know you won't refuse,
You know I'm Fast And Loose

Two o' clock in the morning sugar,
You know I'm sleeping, you must be sleeping,
Why don't you invite me in?
Get yourself some original sin,
I'll wake you up, but stay in bed,
Don't get up, get down instead,
I don't need no excuse,
To like it Fast And Loose

Two o' clock in the morning honey,
Let me in baby, let me in,
You know me, you know I'm wired,
I'm gonna stop you feeling tired,
I'm coming over and I won't be long,
Just let me finish writing this song,
I'm gonna blow your fuse,
I know you like it Fast And Loose

Good lord....how sure ARE you?  Did you go over the lyrics then Google them?  I need, NEED to know what to blast on my way to work tomorrow!

Shazam confirms that he is indeed correct. Fast and Loose. Motorhead. From the Ace of Spades album that we all should already own anyway.

Wow, Merle single-handedly (heh, literally) killed EIGHT of the Governor's henchmen? How many "trusted" dudes does he have left? Two?

I'm just going to put this in print before next week: I think the Prison crew are going to make a run for it.  When the Governor's crew come with their full on assault and blow up the guard tower, they aren't going to find anyone there.

I just watched Talking Dead for the first time. Weird they let that guy claim his character was not on a suicide mission when it's pretty clear that was the intent of the episode. A rare moment telegraphed well and he is denying the intent. Very odd.

In the Talking Dead's sneak preview, when the gov's forces/truck drive up to the prison gates, I didn't see any walkers milling around outside.  I bet when they opened that door - walkers.  Maybe Rick's team herded them into that 'breach' in the prison security to catch the governor off-guard?  Trying to find the clip online and failing.

That's nothing. Hell, it only took Shane about 20 seconds to turn after Rick killed him. People turn in whatever amount of time is necessary for the plot.

BizarreMan: Zulu_as_Kono: I may be mistaken but I think Merle took out a couple of henchman before the Governor even became available as a target.

There were at least four that went down.  Maybe more.

The preview for next week has the Governor claiming "they" killed eight. EIGHT. I can't imagine the Gov has many left. Pretty soon his army will consist of nothing but untrained civvies.

Have they been inconsistent on how long it takes for a person that has been killed to turn? I'm not talking about a person who has been bitten and died from the bite and turned, I'm talking about a person who died from a non bite.

They have to run, or risk spending another season on "the farm". But if they just hotfoot it down the road, they'll be low on food and fuel, and at most get a few hours head start on the well-stocked governor. On the other hand, if they wait for the governor and all the henchmen to leave, Woodbury would be filled with nothing but unarmed pacifists. Attack, stock up on supplies, burn Woodbury to the ground, and then hit the road. By the time the governor returns, he won't have enough food or fuel to follow.

As a lifelong Romero fan, I really appreciated the nod to the original Dawn of the Dead when Merle was starting his zombie army. I was hoping someone would have mentioned that during Talking Dead, because you know that was a Nicotero special.

I'm with Rooker that Merle's intent wasn't to kill himself but to try to redeem himself by killing the governor and his men. It wound up being a suicide mission, but he was really hoping to get the upper hand (and he may have had it not been for the zombie sneaking up on him).

I think that is how it was also. In his mind it wasn't a suicide mission, but something he could pull off. Remember his conversation with Rick about how he doesn't know why he does the things he does. Dude has serious ADHD and impulse control issues.

I think Jenner stated that the time varies from person to person.

According to the CDC's Dr. Edwin Jenner in the TV series, a corpse can reanimate between three minutes and eight hours after death.[3]It was also once hinted by executive producer, Glen Mazzara, that the time it takes for a corpse to reanimate depends on how full of life the person was before they died.

Like I said: whatever's most convenient for the plot.

This is what we have come to expect and love from you.

Here we have the actor saying what he was doing with the character and what the characters thoughts were, right next to the director who was nodding in agreement, and you show up to say they are wrong.

You have made being arrogantly wrong about everything into an art form.

Trocadero: ongbok: SithLord: Why are Woodbury's vehicles more realistic in age and wear in a ZA than Rick's vehicles?

I guess it's the "evil is old and dingy and grimy" while "good is nice and shiny" which the producers want us the viewer to associate common stereotypes to.

The good guys stuff is always nice and shinny. That is how we are supposed to differentiate good guys from bad guys. I'm just glad that they didn't somehow mange to get the whole good guys wear white theme in there also.

[i.qkme.me image 460x340]

Walking Dead Wiki: In specific regards to the timeline, Robert Kirkman wrote, "The Walking Dead takes place in our world, as if this stuff had started happening in October 2003 and continued from there. Now, (Issue 38) in the book it's still only like... June 2004 at this point (If you're keeping track)."[4] "[The Walking Dead] is set in modern times ... but the book started in 2003 and only a year has passed in the book. But that doesn't mean it's 2004 in the book ... maybe it 's 2009 ... who knows ... who really cares. I don't want to be specific."[5]

So, according to Word Of God, the start of the outbreak slides with our time.

Trocadero: If you mean stupid and "just to shock" then yes. The comic has been pretty lousy for awhile now. He uses up all his mojo on Invincible.

I pray that the writers have more talent than to be thinking, "It's episode number 40--who's we gonna kill?"  There are some that seem incapable of understanding that television is a different medium, both as an art form and as a business.  If you had to guess which character on the TV show died as the result of a contract dispute versus their character arc winding down, who would you choose:  Dale or Merle?

TV is about watching characters you empathize with or despise.  While it's obvious that some characters have expendable arcs, I sure as hell hope the show doesn't turn into "random gory death to please fanboi #38".  Merle didn't die "because OMG zombies!"; Merle died because "I want to be with my brother.  My brother wants to stay at the prison.  I can't belong at the prison until I make things right".  It was a redemption story that ended in tragedy.

Or we could go the other way:  the Governor storms the prison, killing Hershel, Maggie, Glen, and Carol instantly in a massive cluster of Baysplosins'!  Hershel's younger daughter runs away with Judith, but is beset by zombies, that inexplicably attack her at her crotch; you know, because shock value is the awesomest.  As she's being violated/murdered, she looks to see that the zombies are ripping lil' Asskicker limb from bloody limb--I mean REALLY take advantage of high definition technology there.  Lots of close-ups and blood and baby screaming.  Then, as she's dying, the guy that is the "Governor x One billion eleventies" shows up, unintroduced, and cuts off her head with a spoon.  THEN he uses aforementioned spoon (Chekov's Gun!), to scoop out part of her brain.  Then he craps in her skull and throws it at the Governor, laughing maniacally (MUAH-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!) !  The governor, startled and embarrassed at being covered in shiat, drops the skull, which then immediately turns zombie (that part of the brain was still there, you see), and drops it into his lap, where it eats his penis and testicles and he bleeds to death.  Poetic justice and super awesome zombie actionz!

David Banner The Away-Team  Rick and Carl then go into season 3 with a whole new cast of adventurers!  That the TV audience is somehow supposed to sympathize with, rather than mock for being so expendable.

If I am expected to give a shiat about this show and its characters, I want to watch the stories of a group that at least partially manages to survive [that is what television, and narrative storytelling is about].  I want the deaths of characters I've been told to sympathize with to mean something.  I don't want to watch the "Rick and Carl and a bunch of wasted character plot lines/we gotta fill 44 minutes show."

I think the end of the season will come about with a whimper.  Rick and the gang will pack up and leave and you'll have the gov come in and blow up most of the prison, last shot will be the gov and his men standing in the now empty prison with a sack of rage they can't get rid of, and the hyundai gang will be driving off down the road, off on a new adventure!  Maybe this time they'll take over....A MALL!

As passive-aggressive as you are about it, I think you might be onto something here.

However, now that we're down to the final episode, here are my predictions:

1. The Governor returns to Woodbury and gives the "they're animals, let's get 'em!" speech. Ben's dad leads the charge. Everyone in Woodbury grabs a gun and hits the road.

2. Milton finds Andrea and frees her and they escape the town, following the militia to the prison.

3. Rick's group waffles on staying or leaving until they finally decide to just go. As they're loading everyone into cars, the Governor's group attacks, and they scatter. Several improtant characters die.

4. Very important scene where the Governor shoots Beth and Lil' Asskicker in the back as they're running away.

5. Outrage. All out war. Rick takes Carl and they escape. More cast memebers die.

6. Sasha and her big sweet bear kill the Governor.

7. Rick, Carl, Darryl, Andrea, and Milton survive and move on.

I'm thinking the same thing.

The fact that there were no zombies, and no return fire tells me that something is up.

I anticipate that at some point, the alarm that was set off back by the one prisoner goes off again.  Sounding the dinner bell for every zombie in the area.

I agree with most but Milton will not have the force of arms to overcome the guard for the shack so he enlists Tyrese and Sasha to release Andrea (he knows Tyrese is new and a moral person and that Tyrese has heard Andrea saying this town is not right), setting up Tyrese and Sasha rejoining the group.  And Darryl is the one to kill the governor... there is no other way after the gov killed Merle.

I don't think anyone from the prison will die next week; it will mostly be the governor's people that are wiped out.  If any of the prison group bites it, I think it will be Beth.  She is basically a glorified extra, so losing her wouldn't interupt any storylines or upset any fans.

Milton dies trying to save Andrea.  The governor kills him.  Then, when the governor and his men storm the prison, Rick and the prison gang break into Woodbury and take over.  They find Andrea, free her, and she convinces the remaining townspeople that the governor is bad.  When the governor returns from the prison, he is locked out and the townspeople start firing on him.  Final shot is him becoming zombie food with one of Daryl's arrows in his skull.

Tyrese will be forced to go to the prison with the rest of the posse. There could be some kind of interesting dynamic between Sasha and Milton where they see the Governor torture Andrea before he leaves to raid the Prison. I'd love to see Andrea get scarred. I mean that in a purely nice way.

There's going to be mass confusion. Just like at the end of Season 2, the group is going to get whittled down and scattered further afield.

My over/under for killing the Gov is 50% Darryl, 30% Tyrese, 10% Andrea, 10% Sasha.

Now That's What I Call a Taco!: I'm just going to put this in print before next week: I think the Prison crew are going to make a run for it.  When the Governor's crew come with their full on assault and blow up the guard tower, they aren't going to find anyone there.

This!
When you see the preview of Martinez taking out the guard tower with the grenade launcher...
That SHOULD alert you that there is NO WAY IN HELL Rick's group can fight off the Governor's group.

A) There's too damn many of them
B) They have military grade weapons; genade launcher and that big farking 50 cal. they showed last week.
C) They have women and children amongst their ranks. Rick is back to normal, moral, GOOD Rick. Good Rick will bug out rather than fire on women and children.

And that's that!
My guess...he's headed back home to see Morganeand introduce his group to him. Try to work out a living arrangement.

No other choice...can't live "on the road" with a one legged guy and a crying baby. They need something secure. Morgan has the whole town locked down...and, it seems, it's a place the Governor doesn't know about, hasn't been, or doesn't care about.

6. Sasha and her big sweet bear kill the Governor.

Solid predictions

Until..

Saiga410: 7. Rick, Carl, Darryl, Andrea, and Milton survive and move on

Bolded man already found another show to work on. He wont survive the finale.

Big Beef Burrito: I feel like they were trying to make up for not showing Merle drving back to camp, jamming some Skynyrd, then unleashing  a van load of zombie justice in Season 1.

We got Motorhead and a g-ride. I'll take it.

I'm convinced the writers read FARK for our bold analysis and fantastic story lines.

That's why they fired that Mazarra guy.

i think they're going to let all the walkers loose in the prison, leave the prison, wait for woodbury and then chase them into the prison when they're through the gates

kumanoki: You Are All Sheep: I think the end of the season will come about with a whimper.

Morgan is in the last episode.

Do they run to his rat-trap town?

Broktun: Morgan is in the last episode.

Morgan comes to his senses, decides to go to the prison, gets there right in time to see the battle unfold.

In an epicly heroic move, he shall rip his shirt off, drape himself in the American flag, and charge into battle with his signature battlecry

"CCCLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!"

He will die, but will save several in the process.

JohnCarter: It will be aliens...mark my words

Or - there will be a snowglobe involved and Rick will wake up

Nah, way too early. The aliens don't show up till issue 75 in the comic.

I actually think the person that will bring the demise of the governor is going to be Judith.  He will drop the gun just as he tried to take her lolly and she will somehow pull the trigger.

kumanoki: My over/under for killing the Gov is 50% Darryl, 30% Tyrese, 10% Andrea, 10% Sasha.

It will almost certainly be part of the main cast that takes out the Governor.  Andrea would probably match closest with the comic, if they wanted to go that way.  Darryl would also make a lot of sense considering this past episode.  I would also accept Rick, as a leader vs leader confrontation.  No way is it Tyreese or Sasha.  They're barely more than extras at this point.

Nah, he'll just show up with some new friends from Kansas, plus a nuke he's been keeping in a storage building.
