What about all the times someone didn't write a letter defending the honour of their imaginary pony wife? Why doesn't anyone ever talk about those times?

When you start to play "mai waifu" with ponies, I think you've gone too far.

I don't get why some men love that show. I've watched it and I think it's a boring predictable cartoon.

I've watched it with my kids. It's a decent show, I have no problem admitting that it's a guilty pleasure. But bronies? I think the "Gelding" post was spot on.

From what I've seen on Fark, it seems like watching MLP is like smoking cigars... if not for the minor ego boost they seem to get from telling other people about it, most adults wouldn't bother doing it at all.

Know a bunch of wee kids, eh?  Some of my friends' children are hitting that age, kinda weird to hear random references to Dora the Explorer from a 30-year-old over skype between foul-mouthed complaints about players in a LoL game.  I've given to understand that those things can get in your brain and won't come out for months.

So are you saying these MLP watchers should go down to the cigar shop and smoke a stogie while watching MLP?

Cigar smoker but not MLP watcher. The only ponies I ever watch at the cigar shop is the Kentucky Derby,.

Sometimes I miss the days before the internet, when fetishes and erotic fiction were privately made and no one else ever needed know about it unless you actually knew the oddball in question.

However, now the internet is upon us, and we will all bear witness to the Chris-chans of the world.

Look... It's farking Visual Prozac okay?

It's cute, it's pretty, funny... and quite clever in places. It is a simple story with a good heart and it makes me forget about all the damned pessimistic bullshiat going on everywhere around me, while the leaders of my country sit on their asses and say "NO! U!" over and over again.

I don't know if I buy into this New Sincerity bullshiat or not, but watching the show makes me smile (smile smile) and it just feels good.

If they could bottle it, grow it, or put it in a pill I would take it with me everywhere.

This is pretty much my take on it, too.

And fans like the ones in TFA are the reason I don't talk much about enjoying the show.

There's a difference between "liking" something and "embarrassing yourself" over something.

If you are a grown-ass man, and have a penchant for cartoons designed for little girls, time to pull your head out of your ass, move on out of moms basement and grow a pair of testes. No, you're not ironic and endearing.  You're an embarrassment to our gender.  Grow the fark up and be a man.

Fark is a site for children and should only be appreciated by children.  The fact that you're on Fark means that you're really a pedophile and are a sick twisted excuse for a human being and you should die slowly and painfully before you have a chance to sexually assault a child.

Now, defend your like of Fark without sounding like a NAMBLA member.

From the MTV article:

The writer here might be a troll. He might have sent this letter to Kevinsano hoping it would be posted, go viral, and humiliate the entire Bronie movement. It also might be very real. Which is rough.

That's the really unique thing about Internet culture: it doesn't necessarily matter whether we are sincere or not for an event like this to become a big deal. Everyone is anonymous, everyone at least feels like there will be no real life blowback for the things they say, what does it matter if you say you are going to marry a cartoon character?

Bronies are just socially awkward child-men who feel superior to others and band together because the "mundane" aren't smart enough to "get" them.
