Excellent headline. Also - why would anyone want their final act on this Earth to be dickish, vindictive and ugly? Seriously.

I used a Vidal Sassoon comb yesterday morning.

Yes, I've got nothin'. But was just thinking yesterdday about the day I realized, courtesy of FARK, that Vidal Sassoon was a person. I had no idea.

Because some people are just assholes.

/Oh and family pictures from the 90s are just as bad as family pictures from the 70s.

I just remember Cat Sassoon getting nakkid in that crappy female martial arts movie. I'm sure everyone in the family was/is farked up.

FTA: Sassoon said: 'David spent a couple of years at a reform school near  Sundance, Utah. He came back to  Los Angeles but he still didn't seem  to fit in.'

In the book, Sassoon admitted he had not seen his son for 18 months following a rift and later he said: 'There's a certain point in my character where if I feel a situation is hopeless -  walk away. Don't torment yourself constantly. I walked away.'

"I mean look, I did everything I could.  I gave up on him and gave up on him and it never seemed to have any effect.  There's only so much giving up on a kid you can do before finally, you just have to smite him from the grave, amirite?"

My mom's best friend was a hair stylist in NY in the 1970's who said she worked for Vidal Sassoon.   All she would ever say about the experience was, "He's a real ASSH*LE."   She wasn't the sort of person to make stuff up, and if she said he was an a-hole, he probably was an a-hole.

2013-03-24 10:52:51 AM
Not shocked that a guy who's been married four times would have a problem raising kids.

2013-03-24 10:53:18 AM
His poetry was kind of depressing, but I admit that his shampoos keep my hair shiny and buoyant.

Rich, famous, and powerful people are often assholes. They console themselves with giant piles of money and cocaine in their oceanside mansions.

David had a bad heir day.

You can read the article and tell immediately what a sterling dad he was. He talks about how much trouble this kid ed from age two.

Well, it's your failure that a kid with issues grew up to be an adult with issues. Accept your failure, don't put it all on the boy. And don't be asshole about it.

Why do people jump to this conclusion? While we may never know the situation, from the article it is quite apparent that father loved his son, and son was a trouble maker.

So...my take is that perhaps father spent enough money (lawyers fees, bail, whatever) trying to get son to be a good boy, and perhaps decided enough was enough. That father had already spent on son what son would have gotten as an inheritance, and giving him any more would be unfair to his other kids.

Maybe the best gift he could have given the kid.

I wants to college with Dave and Audry. He was a douchebag then.

I don't think anyone's is truly horrible, especially for the time. Mom looks quite stylish and sleek, actually.

You'll never love someone else's kids like you do your own, especially if they look nothing like you. Your selfish genes prevent it.

With three disinherited ex-wives, and one of his other kids dead of a drug overdose, it is not really painting a picture of him being a spectacular husband and father.

And for that they should cash in.

At a fashion party David stood by a window on the second floor and peed out, just missing [chat show host legend] Johnny Carson's head.

That right there should earn him 5 mil. Too bad he didn't douse the asshole.

I noticed that his other son's name is 'Elan.'

I am now imagining this Vidal Sassoon shampoo as having been made by Tarquin from 'Order of the Stick.'

And the article seems to more or less back that up.

A third child, Catya, died of a drug overdose in 2002.

You know, something tells me that it might be a case of poor parenting.  Three divorces, two kids screwed up?   Wonder if the two daughters were messed up as well.

2013-03-24 09:51:07 PM
Great headline.

'My son David Sassoon and his issue are hereby disinherited and shall take nothing under this will, and for the purposes of the will, shall be deemed to have predeceased me, leaving no surviving issue.'

So he actually put in his will, "you're dead to me."

Ah HA!  The will of Vidal Sassoon reveals it!

I kept reading "will reveals" as in "it will reveal something in the future"... but then why the present conjugation, agh

/ugh English fail
//but now I get it!
